Be Proactive-we understand that we are each responsible for our own actions and have to make good
decisions early-on in order to be the best leader and student we can be.

2. Begin with the End in Mind-we know that we need to understand our learning objectives, set timely
and attainable goals, and make a plan in order to reach our goals.

3. Put First Things First-we realize that we must get our work done before we can play both at school
and at home.

4. Think Win-Win-we know that sometimes we have disagreements with our friends, but we can think of
a way for all of us to get along and find a solution that benefits all of us.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood-we understand that we need to be good listeners
who try to understand what the other person is saying before trying to share our own point-of-view.

6. Synergize-we realize that in order to be a highly effective classroom community, we need to work
together and help each other when we can.

7. Sharpen the Saw-we know that in order to show our very best leadership skills, we need to take
breaks for our minds, bodies, and emotions.
