There was a dispute over the trademark between Tempo Gelato and Il Tiempo Gelato.

Both of
them claim to be the owners of the tempo gelato brand.

Even some of their shop are close together. For example, on Prawirotaman street. tempo gelato
has an shop in the south of the street. While Il Tiempo Gelato is on the North of the street.

Of course this is a threat to the tempo gelato. Because consumers will be divided and the
competition will be intense.

Increase in ingredients prices

As we know. The main ingredient for making gelato is milk. Meanwhile, the price of milk itself
has increased.

The condition of covid-19 and the war between Russia and Ukraine caused massive inflation in
the world. So the cost of production for milk goes up. And prices also go up

And that happens not only in milk but also another ingredients such as sugar, chocolate and
other.

Of course this is a threat to the tempo gelato. In the end they have 2 option. They can increase
prices which will reduce the number of customers. Or not changing the price which will make the
profit margin even less.

The decrease in people's purchasing power

The increase in the price level, indicated by the customer price index which rose 4 points from
January to September 2022. That not being followed by an increase in income will certainly
reduce people's purchasing power.

This can be a threat because when people's purchasing power decreases. The number of
customers at the tempo gelato is also reduced. This makes the tempo's gelato income
potentially decrease.
