A: Good morning everyone… this is your favorite TV show “My favorite dish”, today
we have three famous chefs and they’re going to tell us about their favorite
Peruvian dishes and the best ingredients.

A: Hello Arlette, Gaston and Mitsuharu…. welcome to our Cooking TV show. It’s a
pleasure that you can be here.

A: Today we’re going to talk about your favorite dishes and your secret ingredients.

A: Let’s start with Arlette…please tell us about your food preferences.

B: Thank you for the invitation…

B: Uhm… My favorite Peruvian food is Stir-Fry beef (Lomo Saltado) because I love
the variety of ingredients. This dish is really good.

B: The ingredients are beef, rice, onion, garlic, potato, salt, cilantro, chili pepper
and some oil.

A: Wonderful! Is there any secret ingredient?

B: Yes! The beef is the secret ingredient and it’s important to buy good meat.

A: Oh, I see… And do you drink anything special?

B: Of course, I eat my “Stir-Fry beef” with a glass of purple corn drink (chicha
morada)

B: This is a typical drink in Peru. It tastes delicious.

A: Thank you, Arlette.

A: Now… Mitsuharu, tell us about your favorite Peruvian dish.

C: Uhm, I’m a foodie, so it’s important the way that you can prepare the dishes.

C: And the ingredients are important too.


C: Well …there are many delicious dishes in Peru, I have two favorite dishes: The
Casserole and the Grilled heart (Anticucho), but I prefer the Casserole (Causa).

A: and What are the ingredients?

C: The ingredients are chicken, onion, garlic, potato, salt, chili pepper.

C: There are other secret ingredients, but I can’t tell you…sorry!!!

A: Really? Well, I understand.

A: And do you have a favorite drink?

C: Of course! A typical drink in Peru: Pisco Sour (Peruvian Pisco sour).

C: It has a little glass of Pisco, a lemon, some sugar and other ingredients.

A: Sounds great!!!... Is there any secret ingredient?

C: The Pisco... It has to be Peruvian Pisco…that is the secret.

A: Excellent Mitsuharu!!! Thanks

A: Finally, What about you…Gaston?

D: Well, I love Rice with chicken (Arroz con pollo) and Stuffed spicy pepper.
(Rocoto Relleno), but if I have to choose. uhm… I prefer Stuffed spicy pepper.

D: It’s difficult to choose because I love good food and Peruvian food is the best.

D: So... my favorite Peruvian food is Stuffed spicy pepper.

A: Oh, I see…. But tell me…. what are the ingredients?

D: The ingredients are beef, onion, garlic, cheese, spicy pepper, salt, chili pepper,
and some oil.

D: This is a typical dish in Arequipa- Peru.

D: The secret ingredient is the spicy pepper. You have to choose a good one.

A: Is it spicy?
D: Not too much, but it tastes really good.

D: I love this dish and I prefer to eat with a good drink. You can drink a glass of
Pisco Sour or a glass of the traditional mixed herbs tea (Emoliente).

A: Sounds delicious!

D: Of course!

A: Now I’m really hungry and I want to try these dishes.
