4. Why do you need the Lord Jesus?
5. What is sin? Who has sinned? (May show Romans 3:23)
6. Can you think of something you have done God calls sin?
God's Way
7. Who is the Lord Jesus? (Turn to 1 Cor. 15:3b-5a)
8. What did Jesus do about your sin? Let the child put “Jesus
died for sins” on fingers of his hand after you
read it.
9. Why is the Lord Jesus the only one who could die
for your sins?
10. What came from Jesus’ body when He died?
11. What happened on the third day after the Lord Jesus died
and was buried? (Show verse 4, let child say it after you; also
show vs. 5a, “He was seen…”)
The Appropriation
12. What do you need the Lord Jesus to do about your sin
problem today?
13. Show and read an invitation (condition-promise) verse
such as Acts 16:31a; John 3:15; 3:16b; 3:36; or 6:47.
Let the child say the verse after you.
Explain the verse phrase by phrase. Be sure to explain
the promise of eternal life is not just “someday,” but is
right now also.
Ask the child: What does God promise He will do?
Ask the child: What does God say you must do?
14. Ask “Do you believe in the Lord as the only Savior from
your sin?”
Suggested prayer of response:
Tell God you have sinned and you are sorry.
Tell God you believe in (trust) the Lord Jesus who died
for your sin and rose again.
Tell God you want to live His way, with His help.
Assurance
15. If you truly believe in the Lord Jesus, what did He do for
you? How do you know?
16. Show the same invitation verse and put the child’s name
in the verse as you read.
17. The Bible says Jesus comes into your life when you
believe in Him. Jesus will never leave you! (Read Hebrews
13:5.) Where is Jesus now?
18. (Read Hebrews 13:6.) Who will help you say NO to sin?
19. If you do sin, what should you do? (Read and explain
1 John 1:9)
20. What should you do when someone gives you something?
