Going to School in Saudi Arabia

         Most children in Saudi Arabia go to school from the age of

six to eighteen . Between those ages , they attend elementary
school , intermediate school and secondary school .

         At secondary school , the day usually begins at about 7.30

a.m.  and ends at about 1 p.m.  There is a homework  every
evening  . In general , everyone takes religion , Arabic , maths and
English .

          Pupils must take exams when they leave school . If a pupil wants to go to
university , he must pass his exams . Then he can graduate with a secondary school
certificate .   About 60 percent  of Saudi students go on university .

            Ahmad Al-Ali is a television interviewer on Saudi TV ,

new programme is called “ In Focus” . His programme is about
