Connectors: synoms

Linking words and phrases

Although some of these words have already been mentioned as sentenceconnectors, they can
also be used to develop coherence within a paragraph, that is linking one idea / argument to
another.
You can also use some of them in a synom way, here are some examples
that we have been working in class:
- Fist of all- to begin with

-Later on/ after that

-Honestly or actually

-In my opinion- for instance-from my point of view

-As /for example/like

-As a result of/for this reason

-To resume/ On the whole

-Besides/moreover/in addition

-But/however

-Like/in fact

-All of a sudden/out of the blue/suddenly
