Remove the pipe plug from the front idler assembly and apply pressure to
this port. Add 625 ± 30 mL (21 ± 1 oz) of 30-CD oil. Apply Loctite 243
7H-3171 to the threads.(1)

Plug Remove the pipe plug from the front idler assembly and apply pressure to
this port. Add 260 ± 15 mL (9 ± 1 oz) of 30-CD oil. Apply Loctite 243 to
the threads.(2)
The rubber toric seals and all the contacting surfaces must be clean and
Duo- dry at assembly. Prior to assembly, apply a thin film of 6V-4876
2 2 Cone Lubricant to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings. The metal
Seal Gp seal rings must be assembled square. The rubber toric seal should not
bulge and the rubber toric seal should not twist.
O-Ring
3 2 Lubricate with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Seal
Spring Install the spring pin with the slit in the range that is specified. The

Pin correct position of the spring pin as shown in Illustration 1 .
D1 - - Pin slit should not exceed more than 20° from centerline of idler shaft.
D2 - - Pin slit should be assembled in specified angle range of 40°.
5 - - Prior to assembly, clean the surface to remove the protective coating.
Idler Install the idler shaft. Position the “R” that is stamped on the end face of

Shaft the idler shaft backward into the front idler bearing.
Minimum end play is 0.26 mm (0.010 inch).
Maximum end play is 1.26 mm (0.050 inch).(3)

Minimum end play is 0.25 mm (0.010 inch).
Maximum end play is 1.15 mm (0.045 inch).(4)
