Gavin Wilkinson, artist name ‘Pricelexs’, is an 18 year old songwriter, rapper and singer from
Denver, CO. Utilizing layered vocals and dark trap melodies, he creates an experimental and
lyrically distinctive sound that is all his own. Featuring genre blends of rap, industrial hip-hop,
and trap, Pricelexs puts a grungy spin on 21st century underground music. Wilkinson has been
writing, producing and singing tracks for the last 2 years, alongside close friend Kameron Fisher,
who is a co-producer and writer on most of his tracks. I recently discovered this artist, Gavin and
I went to the same high-school but didn’t share much interaction. We reconnected after 4 years
this past summer when he started following me on instagram and sent me a direct message. He
mentioned that he was an artist and showed me some demos and a link to his streaming
platforms.
Pricelexs has over 2,000 followers on all his streaming platforms, and has gathered an
intimate but dedicated following on instagram and twitter. YouTube is a platform that needs
growth, with only 33 followers. Pricelexs’ recent single “Take Down” has done significant
numbers, showing a steady growth in streaming numbers over the last 3 months. The song was

This song would be appropriately placed in a video game or film. My artist wishes to keep his
music as authentic as possible, and reduce any risk of un-ethical production. He also wants full
copyright protection and to avoid popular platforms such as Tik-Tok in an effort to keep his ethos
protected.
Wixen Music is a family owned and run publishing company that offers a variety of
services, such as licensing, royalty collection, pitching, copyright protection and representation.
The company priorities copyright protection, and offers a short-term service plan that can be
terminated by either party. The company features over 2,000 clients, representing artists such as
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Missy Elliot and Sturgill Simpson. According their website,
the company heavily focuses on copyright protection, allowing individuals to retain complete
ownership of their works. The company makes it easy to apply by becoming a client, a 1 step
form on their website. The administrative fee is usually 10% royalties, so the clients keep 90% of
There are also other creative resources that are not always this accessible to independent
artists, such as interactions with music supervisors, producers and managers for collaborations
and placement of music. This company is a good fit for my artist because he needs a company
that will give him a larger share of profit, as well as retaining songwriting credits. His values are
to keep his music organic, and placement from a larger company will allow for this.
There are not many cons to applying to this publishing company, the only factor is
needing a larger scale audience. If accepted, the company could connect my artist with valuable
executives in sync, playlisting and more. In order to contact Wixen Music, Pricelexs must create
a complete list of his songs, released and unreleased, as well as compiling information into a
one-sheet for submission the website. In addition to these steps, as his manager I will reach out
to Wixen in email form, reaching out directly to their vice president of business affairs, Julie
Hunt.
