PROJECT MANAGEMENT
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Answer the TWO (2) questions below.
• Marks will be deducted (or even can be given 0) if your asignment answer
contains any plagiarism or copied directly from your coursemate.
• This assignment should be completed individually.

QUESTION/SOALAN 1

a) Assume that you are a project manager to develop the software for “University
Library System”. You are required to produce the following deliverables: –

(i) Produce a “System Request Form” from user department, which relevant
details has been filled by the librarian of the university.
(10 marks)

(ii) Produce a “Project Definition Form” with relevant details. You must show
that it has been filled in by the project group, which is realistic and suitable for
use.
(10 marks)

b) Develop a “Work Breakdown Structure” (WBS) of the project with six levels – e.g.
at the levels of project, sub-project, task, sub-task, etc. Illustrate your WBS in the
form of a diagram.
(10 marks)

c) Develop a list of project activities to be scheduled. Use “Microsoft Project” or

other software to produce a Gantt chart. Identify project milestones and project
deliverables. Print the Gantt chart developed.
(10 marks)

d) Convert the above Gantt chart into a network analysis diagram or Critical Path
Method (CPM). Analyse the activities involve and identify the critical path.

a) Andaikan anda seorang pengurus projek untuk membangun perisian bagi

“Sistem Perpustakaan Universiti”. Anda dikehendaki mengeluarkan bahan-
bahan serahan berikut:

(i) Hasilkan satu “Borang Permintaan Sistem” daripada jabatan pengguna di

mana butir-butir berkaitan telah diisi oleh pustakawan universiti.

(ii) Hasilkan satu “Borang Definisi Projek” dengan butir-butir berkenaan. Anda
perlu menunjukkan bahawa ia telah diisi oleh kumpulan projek dimana ianya
bertepatan dan sesuai untuk digunakan.

b) Bangunkan satu “Struktur Pecahan Kerja” (WBS) bagi projek yang mengandungi
enam paras – contohnya, pada paras-paras projek, subprojek, tugas, subtugas,
dan sebagainya. Gambarkan WBS anda dalam bentuk gambarajah.

c) Bangunkan satu senarai aktiviti-aktiviti projek untuk dijadualkan. Gunakan

“Microsoft Project” atau perisian lain untuk menghasilkan carta Gantt. Kenalpasti
batu tanda projek dan serahan projek. Cetakkan carta Gantt yang dibina..

d) Tukarkan carta Gantt di atas kepada gambarajah analisis rangkaian atau Kaedah
Laluan Kritikal (CPM). Analisa aktiviti-aktiviti yang terlibat dan kenal pasti laluan
kritikalnya.

a) Produce detailed outline with explanations for all steps involve in developing and
managing “University Library System” project. Write your explanation by not
exceeding 500 words (include a diagram if necessary).

b) Explain what makes a software project different from other types of projects.
(10 marks)

c) Describe how you would perform risk management plan for “University Library
System” project.
(10 marks)
