SUBJECT LINE: Taeyeon fans demand the company promotes Taeyeon’s activities better
To SM Entertainment,
As fans of the artist Taeyeon, we would like to express our concerns regarding your continued
lack of support and promotions for her. Taeyeon’s activities and achievements are rarely
updated on her official SNS. We ask that all her individual activities be shared on her official
SNS accounts in a timely manner to keep fans engaged and updated with her content.
1. Promotion / Updates on SNS: We request for a dedicated and active TAEYEON Social
Media and PR Team that will post about her activities promptly on her official SNS
accounts.
a. Amazing Saturday - Taeyeon’s official SNS account is very inconsistent in
updating her activities for Amazing Saturday. Since her SNS accounts were
created, 29 episodes of Amazing Saturday have aired. However, there has only
been 4 updates for Amazing Saturday, with 2 of them being for the same
episode. Compared to SHINee’s account who updates for Key every week,
Taeyeon’s official SNS is extremely lacking.
b. Upcoming schedules - KAMP LA 2022 and Best of Best Concert in Bangkok
are both overseas events Taeyeon will be performing at in the future, but there is
no update on her official SNS accounts. Whether it is for Taeyeon’s solo concerts
or any other event, please let fans know immediately so they have time to make
plans accordingly.
c. Any other activities like magazine pictorials, endorsements, or other variety
shows. In 2021 (before Taeyeon solo official account was created), Taeyeon had
5 magazine features - Hashtag Legend, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Vogue, The Star
Magazine, and not a single one was updated on the Girls’ Generation account.
On the other hand, the Girls’ Generation account updated 5 times for Yuri and
once for Yoona when they featured in magazines in 2021.
d. Taeyeon is part of Girls’ Generation and under the company SM Entertainment.
Please have the Girls’ Generation and SMTOWNGLOBAL accounts on SNS
retweet her activities as well. Other members have their activities updated and
retweeted by the group and company SNS accounts. Why not Taeyeon’s?
2. Encouraging fans to vote for any awards: When ‘Weekend’ was nominated in a music
show against a song by NCT DREAM, SM Entertainment encouraged fans to vote for
NCT DREAM but kept quiet about Taeyeon’s nomination. For any award shows in the
future, we request the official Taeyeon SNS do their job and encourage fans too.
Furthermore, every time Taeyeon makes a comeback, there are problems with pre-orders,
album stock, delays, or lack of advertising. These are some of the general issues that occur for
Taeyeon’s comeback promotions:
● Taeyeon’s comeback announcements are always released on short notice - please give
fans more time to gather funds and plan expenses.
● Taeyeon’s albums never get a long enough pre-order notice period.
● Taeyeon’s music videos never have advertisements. There are many other artists from
SM Entertainment who get Youtube advertisements for their music videos. Why is
Taeyeon not one of them?
Please understand that Taeyeon fans demand a change in the way you are promoting her.
These issues have been going on for years and it is ridiculous how unprofessional the team is in
handling her activities. This is unacceptable. We ask that you hire a more competent team that
will work solely for Taeyeon’s SNS updates.
