Lee Know
리노가 스트레이 키즈로 데뷔한지 5년이 지났습니다. 그동안 스트레이 키즈의 메인 댄서로
활동해온 리노를 만나게 된 것에 대해 팬으로서 감사하게 생각하고 있습니다. 서바이벌
프로그램이 있었던 날부터 지금까지의 날들들을 돌이켜 보면 더욱 그렇습니다. 하지만 팬들은
리노가 그룹 활동과 개인 활동 모두에서 얻는 홍보가 부족하다는 것 또한 알아차렸습니다.
시간이 지날수록 우리는 JYP 엔터테인먼트가 다재다능한 춤실력을 갖춘 JYP의 자존심인
그에게 더 많은 노출을 줄 것을 기대하며 그를 계속 응원했습니다. 하지만 우리는 그가 스트레이
키즈 밖에서 댄서와 아이돌로서 자신의 기술을 뽐낼 기회를 얻는 것을 거의 보지 못합니다.
3. 솔로 스케줄:
그의 유일한 눈에 띄는 스케줄은 쇼! 음악중심입니다. 하지만 지금까지 도전이나 내용에서 다른
아이돌 그룹과 협업하지 않은 유일한 엠씨입니다. 게다가 그는 Beauty+의 잡지 촬영과 인터뷰만
했습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그는 여전히 한국과 전세계에서 가장 인기 있는 멤버 중 한
명입니다. 최근 일본의 푸딩 광고를 예로 들면, 이 캠페인에서 리노의 인기와 혼자서도 이러한
협업을 관리할 수 있는 잠재력을 가지고 있음을 알수 있습니다.
5. 2022년 연말 시상식은
여러 연말 시상식에서 댄스라차 소속 리노의 특별한 솔로 공연이 없었고, 댄스라차 스페셜
무대도 그 없이 공연이 진행되어 리노의 댄스를 기대했던 많은 팬들에게 실망을 안겨주었으니
올해는 이 부분을 회사가 반성하고 공평한 대우를 해주길 바랍니다.
6. 솔로 프로젝트:
리노의 개인 프로젝트는 2019년 슼즈 플레이어 "Dawn"과 2022년 솔로 음반 "나지막이"뿐입니다.
회사는 이러한 종류의 콘텐츠의 공개를 장려해야 합니다. 왜냐하면 그것은 그의 경력과 재능을
팬들이 더 잘 알 수 있도록 돕는 방법이기 때문입니다. 우리는 그의 경력 5년 동안 이두가지
콘텐츠에 의존해야 하는 것이 정말 힘이 듭니다. 그의 “나지막이”는 5k 이상의 좋아요, 26k
스트림, 7k 이상의 청취자로 멜론에서 SKZ Replay의 솔로 곡 중 가장 높은 차트, 스트리밍 및
좋아요를 달성했으며, 또한 발매와 동시에 대한민국 스포티파이에서 많이 알려졌습니다. 이
곡은 QQ 뮤직 차이나에서 두 번째로 많이 스트리밍된 곡이며, 라인 뮤직 재팬에서 80위로
차트에 오른 유일한 앨범 곡입니다.
7. 스타일링:
몇 년 동안 우리는 그의 스타일링이 같은 종류의 액세서리와 옷을 사용하면서 반복적인 것을
보았습니다. 대표적인 예는 베레모를 사용하는 것입니다. 비록 그가 어떤 것이든 잘 어울린다는
것을 알지만 그의 본질을 유지하면서도 눈에 띄는 것을 사용할 수 있다는 것을 알기 때문에 그의
의상에 더 많은 노력을 기울이기를 원합니다. 특히 컴백 시즌에 그의 의상은 베레모, 흰색 셔츠,
검은색 넥타이 바지 및 재킷 등 항상 같은 패턴입니다. 그리고 그의 헤어스타일에 대해 우리는
그의 머리를 스타일링하려는 노력을 보지 못했고, 최근에 그가 잠시 긴 머리를 했을때 그를 위해
할 수 있는 스타일링이 너무 많음에도 불구하고 오히려 베레모와 모자를 사용함으로서 그의
색다른 모습을 볼수가 없었습니다.
뮤비에서 리노는 스크린타임이 부족해서 불필요해 보이는 폭죽을 터뜨리거나 공중에 매달리는
등 위험한 스턴트에 노출되어 있다는 것도 알게 되었습니다. 이것은 심리적인 고통뿐만 아니라
신체적인 고통과 심지어 부상까지 초래했습니다.
리노의 새로운 틱톡이 일본 트위터 계정에 재게시되지 않았다는 것이 우리의 주의를
끌었습니다. PIXID 계정에서 만든 게시물은 공식 스트레이 키즈 계정에서 리트윗되지
않았습니다. 리노가 MC가 된 이후로 쇼! 음악중심에서 게시물이 리트윗되고 있습니다.
스트레이키즈의 공식계정에서 리노의 틱톡이나 일정을 다른 멤버들처럼 반드시 리트윗
해주기를 바랍니다.
리노는 가수, 댄서, 연기자, MC, 배우, 모델 그리고 홍보대사로서 엄청난 잠재력을 가지고
있지만 JYP 엔터테인먼트는 그를 잘 홍보하지 못하고 있습니다. 회사는 이전에 언급했던 모든
사실들을 고려하여 그를 더 잘 홍보하기 위해 모든 노력을 해주기를 바랍니다.

Dear Jyp:
It's been five years since Lee Know debuted with Stray Kids. We, as fans, are grateful that we got to meet
Lee Know as the main dancer of Stray Kids during all this time, even more if we count the days of the
survival show. However, fans also noticed the lack of promotions Lee Know gets both in the group and
individual activities. As years passed by, we kept supporting him in hope that JYP Entertainment would
give him more exposure as JYP’s pride with his versatile dancing. Yet we barely see him getting
opportunities to show off his skills as a dancer and an idol outside Stray Kids.
There are a few things we would like to raise awareness regarding Lee Know’s treatment and these are:
1. Lack of screen time for title track music videos: By our knowledge of how the editing team
works, it seems like it's a decision to not highlight his parts or cut his scenes changing the
direction of the camera to other superficial elements, using shades to hide his face, or shooting his
face but not highlighting his dance, and not giving him individual scenes to perform. Is even hard
for us to select footage for his birthday ads because of this issue. Most of the time his solo screen
time is just few seconds, and also when he’s singing the camera focuses on other members, being
even harder for new fans to notice him as sometimes they thought the group was 7. Lee Know is
used as a visual element to attract people (thumbnails) but at the end we're left disappointed as we
only see a few seconds of him.
2. Lack of proper lines in title tracks: It’s concerning that all these the years Lee Know only had
proper lines in the title track from the NOEASY Album “Thunderous” when he managed to be in
third place, but besides that, he’s always at the bottom and his lines mostly consist in repetitive
lines and onomatopeias (Ex. God’s Menu, The Sound and most recently S-Class), adding to this
issue that most of the time he sings along with other members so his parts are not highlighted in
performances. We understand that his main position is dancing, but at the same time he is putting
a lot of effort into his singing classes and is one of the members with the most stable voice, so we
just want fairness regarding this issue.
3. Lack of solo schedules: His only prominent schedule is Show Music Core (which is coming to an
end), and all this time is the only MC that doesn't collaborate with other idol/groups in challenges
or content. In addition to that he only had the magazine shoot and interview for Beauty +. Just
this and he still manages to be one of the most popular members in Korea and worldwide. A
recent example of this situation was the pudding advertisement in Japan, a campaign that gained
popularity by Lee Know and had all the potential to manage that collaboration by himself.
4. Lack of proper showcast of his dancing abilities; in spite of being a main dancer, we barely see
him in the center position for dance breaks in choreographies, special presentations/stages, and
schedules. He has never had a dance break in any Stray Kids song since debut and we find this
unfair due to the fact that he is a professional dancer and has contributed and helped to the
harmony of the dance in the group. So in this case, if he is not having proper lines at least we
want to see him dance. Another issue that influence this matter is the fact that, Lee Know's lines
are often shortened on live presentations. An example for this was the Danceracha Special Stage
"Taste" for JTBC K-909 program where his vocals were removed from the song and once again
received less individual screentime due to this issue. In recent "S-Class" promotions not only is
he blocked by other members in the most important part of the song but Lee Know is also
blocking the visibility of other members like I.N. The formation for the dance created by MOTF
and supervised by the performance director Sim Kyujin fail to deliver a choreography where all
members are seen, being one of the reasons why Lee Know's screen time is cut down since he
doesn't receive any leading center in chorus.
5. For the year end award shows 2022, Lee Know as part of the Danceracha didn’t have any
special/solo performance, moreover the Danceracha special stage was performed without him,
making fans really disappointed as we were expecting him to dance, so we hope that this year the
company reflects on this matter.
6. Lack of individual projects: The only two individual projects that we have from Lee Know it’s his
SKZ Player “Dawn” in 2019 and his solo record “Limbo” in 2022. The company should
encourage the release of this kind of content because it helps his career and fans have a way to
know his talents better. For us it is really hard to rely on the same two contents in 5 years of his
career. Limbo became the highest charted, streamed and liked solo song of SKZ Replay on Melon
with more than 5k likes, 26k streams and 7k unique listeners, also debuting in Spotify South
Korea upon release. It was the second most streamed song in QQ Music China and the Only song
of the album that charted in Line music Japan at #80.
7. Styling: Through the years we’ve seen that his styling is repetitive, using the same type of
accessories and clothing, an example of this is the use of berets, that even though he suits
everything we want to see more effort into his outfits as we know that you can use something that
stands out but keeping his essence. It's always the same pattern with his outfit, berets, white shirt,
black tie pants and jackets since forever especially in comeback season. Regarding his hairstyle
we haven't seen any effort into styling his hair, rather it is hidden in berets and caps, even though
he recently decided to have long hair for a while and there was so much styling that could be done
for him.
We have noticed Lee Know is exposed to dangerous stunts, like firecrackers or being held on the air, in
MVs that seems unnecessary due to his lack of screentime. Not only causing him psychological but
physical distress and even injuries.
It came to our attention that Lee Know new Tiktoks were not reposted by Japan Twitter account. Neither
the post made by PIXID account was retweeted by the official Stray Kids account. None Music Core post
has been retweeted at all since Lee Know became a MC either.
His collaboration for tiger inside (98 liners) gained a lot of attention from netizens, both for his singing
and dancing abilities, being his fancam the most streamed one for a 4th generation male idol in 2022; this
is only a proof that Lee Know has the ability to succeed in everything he does, however, through the years
JYP Entertainment fails to promote him well.
Lee Know has a tremendous potential as a singer, dancer, performer, MC, actor, model and ambassador,
but to showcase all those skills the company needs to promote him better by taking into consideration all
the facts stated before.
We hope that our words are conveyed through this email and we find improvement regarding this matter.
