It was a stormy night.

Sarah and her mother were returning home from her

grandmother’s house. Sarah’s mother was driving carefully on the wet roads. She
stopped the car as the traffic lights turned red. Sarah was wondering how hard it
must be for those to survive this stormy night who do not have a shelter. Suddenly
her eyes got stuck under a lamp post. Something small was standing close to the
lamp post. Sarah looked carefully. It was a tiny kitten! She asked her mother to stop
the car and she got out of the car to fetch the kitten. When she went to the cat, she
saw that the cat was completely covered in blood. Then she asked her mother to
come to her. At first, she was shocked to see the kitten and then she told her
daughter to get into the car with the kitten. Sarah got into the car with the kitten and
headed home. After going home, they treated the cat. The kitten was suffering from
a leg injury because its leg was wounded by something sharp. But the kitten was
very happy after the treatment. They named the kitten Puchu. The kitten gradually
became a member of their family. Sarah took the cat with her everywhere she went.
Only when she went to school, she could not take Puchu with her because cats were
not allowed in school. A separate room was made for Puchu in Sarah's house. There
was a separate arrangement for Puchu. But Puchu did not like to stay in her room,
she felt comfortable sleeping with Sarah. Every day when Sarah wakes up, she
searches for Puchu. One day Sarah couldn’t find Puchu and so she asked her
mother where Puchu went. Sarah’s mother said that she didn’t see the cat either.
Sarah searched the entire home but couldn’t find Puchu anywhere. Sarah skipped
breakfast and anxiously went outside to search for her pet. She searched at fields,
around her neighbour’s homes, near the school but it was to no avail. After that,
Sarah became depressed because of her missing pet. She was upset by the
absence of Puchu. She started hanging flyers and she printed posters to add to
walls. She asked many people if they saw her cat but everyone replied negatively.
After weeks of search, she was ready to give up. She accepted that she would never
find the cat again. But surprisingly the cat suddenly appeared at her home one night.
Sarah rejoiced because of her reunion with her cat. Sarah noticed that Puchu
became very dirty and it seemed like it was malnourished. Sarah gave the cat a bath
with warm water and she fed the cat many treats. To ensure that her cat doesn’t go
missing again, she decided to put a bell on Puchu. Because of this, the cat became
easily identifiable. Sarah’s address was written on the bell and so if the cat went
missing again, someone could return the cat quickly. Sarah became cautious about
where the cat stayed. One day Puchu became sick and Sarah immediately took the
cat to a vet. The vet said that the cat became sick because it was malnourished for a
long time. Since then, Sarah became very concerned about the cat’s health. One
day Sarah noticed that Puchu was playing with another cat. It was the neighbour’s
cat and its name was Ikri. Sarah felt relieved that Puchu found a companion to play
with. Puchu and Ikri were very friendly with each other. They never fought even
once. Puchu gave provided Sarah a lot of entertainment. The cat gave her a lot of
mental support. Sarah believed that she made a great decision by picking the cat up
from the street. The care that she showed the cat was returned back to her.
