Ltd, an international pharmaceutical company. Dalam Negeri i Malaysia pusat keluar vaksin halal dunia K ‘The ever-rising healthcare cost and the financial incapability of the population of the Rawang to receive superior medical care was always worrying Dr. Sathia Prakash. Turning back to his parents” beliefs that always be people-orientated rather than self-orientated and a leader ‘can make the change. Dr. Sathia Prakash decided that he wanted to enrich the quality of life of the residents of Rawang. Hence when an opportunity to manage a private clinic came by, Dr. Sathia Prakash held on to it. DR. SATHIA PRAKASH AND SP CARE In the year 2009, the directors of SP Care invited Dr. Sathia Prakash to join with them to start a private general practitioner clinic with the same mission is to provide efficient and effective medical care to the population. A great partnership was formed due to the collaboration of the ideas between Dr. Sathia Prakash and the board of directors. After long deliberation, Dr. Sathia Prakash defied many others and opened the branch away from the town in January 2009. This was for two main reasons. Firstly, this region had no accessibility to private healthcare services and second is the Dr. Sathia Prakash did not want to compete with the existing clinics. Hence, due to his right attitude and mindset, the clinic started to see about 100 patients in three years. In the beginning, there was no intention to run 24 hours but after an incident on the first day whereas he wanted to close the clinic there was a parent from a nearby town who needed treatment for his child, Dr. Sathia Prakash who is a people-orientated doctor without hesitation treated the child. After completed the treatment, he realized that the Rawang resident needs a 24 hours clinic in operations, thus he decided to run the clinic as 24 hours clinic. However, as the sole and foremost doctor in SP Care, he sacrificed his gain for the benefit of the Rawang people when he decided to work 24 hours himself. In the course of the 3 years, patients felt confident of his treatment and started to trust Dr. Sathia Prakash as their family doctor. Dr. Sathia Prakash always reminds his mates that if you give the best you will receive the best. When treating patients, Dr. Sathia Prakash never saw the time, color, race, or background. The true quality of a patient- orientated doctor. In the three years, Dr. Sathia Prakash has received many complaints and request to set ~ up a clinic in the far interiors of the Gombak and Hulu Selangor districts where the locals find it difficult to commute or the distance. Dr. Sathia Prakash realized that other towns and villages also need the same level of standard of care therefore he started to hire more doctors who share the same vision and mission. ‘THE CLINICS With that, in thought, an offer to buy over an operational clinic came forward. This clinic ‘was in Country Home about 12km towards North West of the current clinic. After smooth ‘management buys over, the second SP Care was in operation in the year 2011. In the same year, a building space on the North East side of the town, Bukit Sentosa was rented out by SP Care SDN BHD, the company that manages SP Care Clinics. This was going to be the third clinic to cater to the lower-income group of Malaysians. Under the leadership, and guidance of Dr. Sathia Prakash, SP Care slowly carved its niche in the healthcare environment of the Gombak and Hulu Selangor districts. Dr. Sathia Prakash envisioned that the SP Care clinic should be able to treat a patient within 15 minutes 10 from the house. Therefore, in 12 years the SP Care organization has managed to set up and operate 11 clinics in the Gombak, Petaling Jaya, and Hulu Selangor districts. Some of them are set up by the organization and some are by management buy over. On the whole, at the moment ‘SP Care organization is managing the clinics that handle almost 1000 patient visits a day. ‘Through Dr. Sathia Prakash's leadership, SP Care has set up clinics in Bandar Baru Selayang, Batang Kali, Kota Damansara, Rawang Tin, Sungai Choh, Antara Gapi, and Sungai Buaya. This is the only specialist clinic under SP Care wings. ‘SP Care has also converted the Antara Gapi clinic to an occupational health clinic to cater to the occupational health cases the moment Dr. Sathia Prakash obtained his Occupational Health Doctor certification. The Antara Gapi clinic complex also houses the financial and human = = resource department, a function hall " THE SUPPORT SYSTEM In order, to provide a complete wholesome medical experience for the patients, SP Care under the watchful eyes of Dr. Sathia Prakash also manages the medical support services such as the Nursing Center, the lab, the pharmacy, and the ambulance service, and the IT hub. ‘The nursing home was set up in 2010, for those & Ri NURSING atte yr who would need 24 hours medical attention such as bedridden, chronic wound dressing patients. The nursing home also is a transit point for post-operative ‘care patients before they are discharged to go home. SP Nursing Center has four single bedded rooms equipped with the patient monitoring system and an emergency trolley that is used during an emergency. Dr. Sathia Prakash successfully formed with Quantum Diagnostics to set up a laboratory at the Rawang ‘Mutiara complex in the year 2017. Realizing the fact that Rawang int venture residents are in dire need of Ambulance services as there have been delays in patients receiving prompt and immediate medical attention, Dr. Sathia Prakash has supervised the purchase of an Ambulance vehicle to reduce the delays. Dr. Sathia Prakash headed the team to set up SP Pharmacy at the Rawang Mutiara in the year 2019, We care for your health has been the motto by Dr. Sathia Prakash which constantly instilled into the SP Care Staffs to provide the best treatment and wholesome experience. Dr. Sathia Prakash doesn’t believe a person has no ability. Every person has his or her special qualities, and Dr. Sathia Prakash believes that we should expose and amplify them. With this, the company under his leadership has grown from a mere 5 staff to 150 staff are on the payroll currently. With all this advancement and improvement, the board of directors appointed Dr. Sathia Prakash as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SP Care SDN BHD in the year 2015 and as the Chairman of the organization in the year 2019. COVID 19 AND THE MEASURES. [As a doctor who has experience working in a Medical Research Institute and a Public Health Specialist, Dr. Sathia Prakash was quick to recognize the catastrophic consequences of COVID-19 to the people at large. More than 60 years have passed since Merdeka, not only has Malaysia lost the competitive advantage we enjoyed in the 1960s & 1970s, our society is seeing increasing wealth and income disparity, disunity and mistrust among racial communities, and failing public service delivery. Government institutions and civil society thinking have to be reformed. Efforts in nation- building and economic development must be promoted based on the principle of social justice. In particular, Malaysia faces an urgent need to address the social and economic hardship of the B40. passionately believe in striving for social and economic justice in achieving these visions: + The basic dignity of every citizen to be housed and to have food for their daily sustenance, + Equal access to healthcare and education regardless of social standing, + The elimination of corruption and abuse of power that have crippled our public service delivery resulting in citizen receiving slow & inferior services, + Gender equality for women in employment and fair remuneration & safe working condition for workers in jobs that are dangerous, dreadful, and dirty. jan, I have walked the talk. My past records show I have carried out what I believe in. I have used my medical expertise, time, and personal resources to care for the people Before being a poli of Hulu Selangor without any discrimination of race, religion, or nationality. Thope I will be granted the opportunity to be part of the political machinery of PKR to achieve even greater social justice for Malaysia with results in magnitude and multiple folds than my personal effort could ever achieve. 45 DR.
