6TH RESEARCH CONFERENCE
TIM organized the 6th
National Research Conference on the
theme ‘Data Science Technology (Data)
in Management Research’ on 10th
November 2022 at the Institute. The
Institute has been organizing research
conferences since 2015 on emerging
areas in Business Management. This
conference targeted Academicians,
Industrialists, Research Scholars and
Postgraduate Students to present
impending practices of Data based
aimed to educate participants on the processes involved in the development of data
research. The research conference was
science solutions for business and customer growth. It also called for the productive use of data in the and finance sectors for
greater growth. Twenty-nine research papers from various management domains were presented from different parts of the
country through hybrid mode. The inaugural session of the research conference was presided by Jb. Shahal Hassan Musaliar,
President, TKM College Trust and Inaugurated by Dr. M. Bhasi, Senior Professor, Management Studies, Cochin University
of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Dr. Shajahan Shamsudeen, Director of the Institute, Trust members, Prof. T.Abdul
Karim Musaliar and Jb.Sadiq S. Thaha spoke on the occasion. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr.Thomas Michael, Dr.
Aravind M. and Dr. Reshmi A.G. with the support of all the faculty, staff members, and students.

PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST AND INDUCTION PROGRAM

Induction Program
which was
conducted for two
weeks, from 26th

September to 10th October 2022. The students went through various sessions of Public speaking and Soft skill training
classes. A Public Speaking Contest was conducted for the participants, by the end of the Induction Program. Fifteen
students were selected for the final round, from which four students were finalized to be the winners.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2022


FDP was conducted on 5th November 2022. The session started with the welcome address by Dr. Santhosh (Dean,
TKMIM) and was handed over to the resource person Mr. Jesley A.L, a Google certified digital marketing trainer, the topic
for the FDP was “Social Media for Academic Excellence and Professional Branding”.97 participants joined for the FDP
across the globe.

Industrial Visits are an important component of MBA
programmes, the purpose of TIM's industrial visits is to
expose beyond such tradition. In addition to providing
familiarity with how a business operates, TIM industrial
trips successfully mix the real-world intricacies of business
through a range of teaching methods. This makes use of
prearranged encounters, analytical thinking, and practical
comprehension. Such first-hand experiences are placed
after the second semester to promote active learning
supported by adequate pre-wiring and preparations. The
five day Industrial Visits to Bengaluru, for the 27th Batch .
Participants were conducted during the month of
November, which included a comprehensive and engaging
itinerary. The programme commenced on 13th of
November, 3.00 pm from the college premises and the
travel modes included railway as well as roadway. The
destination for the first day of the visit was the beautiful to
the historically prominent Mysore palace, the legendary
city of Mysore, where the participants had a relishing visit

sought after. The day concluded with a visit to the famous Commercial Street, which was indeed a shopping experience as
well as a learning experience for the participants. The visits to the Palo Alto facility situated in Bengaluru, was the highlight
of the whole programme, which was conducted on the third day of the programme. The participants were given relevant pre-
wiring beforehand in order to make the interactions with the Palo Alto Team interesting and informative. Sessions on
Cybersecurity, HumanResources, Financial Management, Pre-sales and Marketing were taken by the professionals.The IV
concluded with the visit to Vaidyuti Mobility, an innovative startup by Mr. Hari Vasudevan focusing on Electric Vehicles.
The participants had the opportunity of an onsite interactive session with Mr. Hari Vasudevan and his team at their factory
facility. The participant team of 27 th Batch was accompanied and guided by the faculty team, which consisted of Dr. Manoj
Krishnan C.G., Professor-HR, Prof. Nisha S., Asst. Professor-Finance, and Mr. Mohammad Ashraf, Manager- Corporate
Relations Cell.

OUTBOUND TRAINING PROGRAM


The students of TIM 28th Batch got the opportunity to attend a Two
day Outbound Training Program, from 14th November to 16th
November 2022, at Suryanelli, Munnar which was conducted by
Kalypso, A 20 year old experiential travel company offering safe and
professional travel and training experiences, all over India. The
students attended various Management games and team activities such
as ‘River Rafting’, in which they were given bamboo sticks, tubes and
safety jackets and they were required to make and sail the Rafts. Other
games like ‘Passing through the web’ were also conducted. They also
trekked up The Phantom Mountain which was 7000 ft above sea level. All the activities mainly focused on teamwork, team
spirit and coordination. Students had to collaborate with each other and the team synergy was monitored by the Kalypso
members. After each activity, students were asked to gather at the gazebo, to discuss the outcomes and lessons learnt from
each task given and to also understand how to apply them in an organization. The students were accompanied by Dr. Aravind.

INDUSTRY IMMERSION PROGRAM


A six-day Industry Immersion Program was organized
for the participants of the 27th batch alongside the
Industrial Visits. The itinerary included 4 nights and 5
days in Malaysia where the participants were able to
attend training at the UOW Malaysia KDU University on
the topic “International Business Opportunities”.The team
was also able to visit the Bank of Negara Museum &
Gallery where they could observe and understand the role
and significance of the Central Bank of Malaysia in
maintaining financial stability and monitoring the health of
the economy of the country.The visit to Yakult the
manufacturer to understand how the company manages to
cap 30 billion Shirota strain in each bottle was an
engaging experience as per the opinion of the participants
Observations and insights from the visit to the Malaysian
External Trade and Development Corporation
(MATRADE) gave the participants a brief exposure to the
ease of doing Export/Import business in Malaysia.As the
final addition to the exclusive program, the team was able
to visit MRANTI Innovation Hub which aims to expand
the innovation and R&D transitions in the
commercialization life cycle. The facility is spanned
across 686 acres located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.The program also included a visit to places like Putrajaya, Thean Hou
Temple, Royal Selangor, Batu Caves, Genting Highland, and a tour of the city of Kuala Lumpur. The participants were
accompanied and guided by the faculty team, which consisted of Prof. Alex Koshy, Assistant Professor - Operations, Dr.
Archana S, Assistant Professor - Finance, and Mr. Mohammad Ameen S, Administrator- IT Relations, TKMIM.

 Prof. Azhar Basheer attended the "Connect Career to Campus Program” organized by Higher Education
Department, Govt Kerala at Girideepam Convention Centre, Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram on 2nd
August 2022.
 Prof. Azhar Basheer and Mr. Mohammed Ameen attended the IIC Regional meet, organized by the Ministry
of Education's Innovation Cell, Govt. of India, at KMEA Engineering College, Kochi on 6th August 2022.
 Dr. Aravind M has reviewed an article for Cogent Business & Management (Scopus Indexed) journal
published by Taylor & Francis Group.
 Prof.Anil, Prof.Nisha, and Prof.Fathima participated in a 2-day National Workshop on Business Analytics
from 29th August -30th August 2022, organized by the Institute of Management Kerala (IMK) in association
with Yukta.
