His first published story was "Hollerbochen's
Dilemma" in the fanzine Imagination and he 1938 continued publishing several issues with no success.
This year he submitted "Homecoming" to the
magazine Mademoiselle and the then editorial assistant Truman Capote published the manuscript 1947 and he won a place in O. Henry Award Stories.
He wrote The Fireman which later was published as
Fahrenheit 451, the review of The Martian chronicles by the writer Christopher Isherwood led Bradbury's work to the big literary scene.
