Space is a major issue in modern society because it allows us to assert ourselves as a

power and to correspond to a human ideal, it sells dreams and has even become a
business. The first document talks about space tourism and is taken from a website. The
second document is a comic strip which presents a surprised astronaut and tourists. The
third document talks about the risks of space tourism and the third talks about the race
between billionaires to conquer space. Following these documents it is possible to ask what
future and what place is reserved for the company engaged in the space world and the
astronaut. In a first step we will see in what it is lucrative and why it is a problem

First of all, document 1 allows us to see what things are related to space tourism and how it
is possible to sell it. There are many different activities and at the moment it is a pleasure for
the rich. The aim is to have thrills to satisfy the customer. However, this is qualified by the
fact that it is impossible to really have the sensation of space. Document 3 also shows that it
is not recent that different safety measures have been put in place and that this tourism is
becoming a reality. Especially as it has become something sponsored and comparable to
any other business. Document 4 shows the amount of conglomerates that are in this
business and the amount of money that is invested in it and also the media coverage that it
gets.

Secondly, document 2 shows that this discredits the whole profession of astronaut, knowing
the difficulties and the necessary skills. We also notice the fact that tourists are everyday
people without clothes, which adds to the absurdity. There is a real criticism of the astronaut
and the Space X project which seems unrealistic in the drawing. Document 3 also highlights
all the risks that astronauts have and all the dangers of social travel. This seems totally
contradictory with the idea of making it free to the public, despite the financial limits.

In conclusion, the place of space tourism is real in our time and it is launched by many big
companies that try to make it accessible nevertheless the risks are way too neglected
