Teen pregnancies on the rise this festive season .

according to a report from the health ministry more


than 5000 minors are expectant with an estimate of 500 of them aged 10 to 14 years.the health cabinet
secretary is urging all parents to be on the lookout for their children and asking for cooperation from
police officers to prevent minors from attending the so called night parties.in order to prevent further
surge in teen pregnancies.

Residents of tana river county are asking for help from the government to beef up security in the area to
help curb insecurity. According to residents they feel they have been left out by the government.quoting
on of the residents we have been dealing with hostile parties for almost six months and we have not
seen any help from the central government.

Earlier today workers at gikombaa market in Nairobi county were protesting to the local authorities due
to the failure of garbage collection at the market.they insist that it is the duty of the local authorities to
oversee that task.the workers are saying the incompetence of the local authorities to oversee such task
is costing them dearly since most people won’t come to the market due to an unclean environment.

This festive season will see a spike in prices of many commodities including fuel which its price had just
been reduced recently.the officials concerned are saying this is due to the global rise in demand for most
products and while most of the countries are still suffering from the aftermath of the covid 19 pandemic
the situation is expected to last a while.citizens across the country are asking the government to lower
prices of commodities as they are at a disadvantage since immediately after the festive season the
academic year is starting hence they are asking the govt to ease their burden
