Summary

"I decided not to go back to Mikey," Sanzu explains moments later when they're still laying
there on the grass together for some reason, staring up at the drifting clouds. His tone is dry
and wrung out. "I went looking for you instead."

"Why?" He practically sighs out, but he's infinity curious.

"Because I wanted to kill you," Sanzu says with complete ease, and Takemichi has to stifle
an inappropriate laugh.

"I'm not letting you out of my sight," Takemichi spits out viciously, right after tackling Akashi
Sanzu Haruchiyo onto the ground. Luck is on his side since he had been able to find the boy- man,
though it's still strange thinking of him as such with how he appears right now, so- enemy right
when he was thinking about searching for him until he eventually found him, no matter how long it
took. Who knew the world could be so small that they'd cross paths at a local park.

So freaking small that it'd put two time leapers right next to each other with a mostly common goal
that revolves around the same one person though they're both going about it in their own drastic
ways.

(Why the fuck did the gods even choose them both specifically and when will it be over?)
Takemichi tries not to be so bitter.

Sanzu groans from the impact, then hisses back like a disgruntled cat before wrapping his hands
around Takemichi's thin waist in a harsh grip then effectively lifting him up off his person in
record time before tossing to the side like a ragdoll. And Takemichi is already pathetically losing
the fight before it even properly began, it's a realization that depresses him as he lets his body roll
over to the side, panting like he did something extremely strenuous while closing his eyes for a
short reprieve.

The sun is basking a little too comfortably on them. Making Takemichi feel heavy and sluggish
but just for a moment does he let himself give in. He can't stop trying to fight back or else-

He gets knocked flat on his back in the short amount of time it takes for him to even get back up.
Sanzu hovers over him, trapping him on the fresh grass with a snarl twisting his features.

And Takemichi stares, because-

"You don't have scars," he says quietly. It comes out of an exhalation.

Sanzu's face is just bared and unblemished, it had barely registered to him when he first attacked
him because of the anger that had clouded his senses. And it's weird seeing him like that, so young
and fresh faced despite knowing what the man's committed and what kind of person is really
lurking behind that seemingly innocent face.

"And I'm going to give you some," Sanzu spits back, and it's so ridiculously juvenile that
Takemichi laughs. If he sounds half-maniac well, it's been a crazy hell of a day. Amongst many
others sure, but this just takes the cake.
The other man doesn't seem like he'll be letting up anytime soon, but he doesn't do anything rash
either. He has Takemichi in his tight, painful grip but Takemichi is suddenly too drained to try
anything else, the energy he previously had that motivated him to take down Sanzu seeps away to
be replaced by something that's nameless but it feels oddly settling. Like he could relax without
any burdens for the moment.

And he's not sure what's happening, what it even means but it feels pretty significant. That Sanzu'a
face is lacking his prominent scars, but most of all that he had found the other man, and still
managed to survived the encounter.

(At least for now. Because he can never be too certain of anything.)

Sanzu eventually rolls off of him with his expression shifting to something almost pensive as he
rolls away to lay in the same position as Takemichi right beside him.

"I decided not to go back to Mikey," Sanzu explains moments later when they're still laying there
on the grass together for some reason, staring up at the drifting clouds. His tone is dry and wrung
out. "I went to look for you instead."

"Why?" He practically sighs out but he's infinity curious.

"Because I wanted to kill you," Sanzu says with complete ease, and Takemichi has to stifle an
inappropriate laugh.

The man shoots him a look for it anyway when he seems take notice.

"I'm still alive," Takemichi says when he's composed. Because he knows that nothing is holding
Sanzu back now since Takemichi isn't in the right state to be fighting when he feels so tired, even
willpower won't be able to save him from demise if Sanzu chose to act.

"Why am I still here?" He asks in a smaller voice without being able to hide the lingering
uncertainty in his tone.
"Who knows?" Sanzu says after a long stretch of tense silence.

And he sounds just as hopelessly lost as Takemichi feels.
