Synthesis of the Reviewed Literature

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital is an advance and
integrated hospital of Singapore which refuse to leave the essence of nature instead they
incorporate those essences of nature in provision of health care. Prioritizing not only the
patients but also its health workers through provisions of services and providing spaces
which for an instance is open to the public. Sustainability of design reflects cost effective
services and character of the facility. NTFGH acquired sustainability through grabbing
free natural resources such as rainwater, the sunlight, natural ventilation and lastly the
people. Including of mechanical equipment and design approach which optimize how the
facility will be exposed from the nature together with serving its people.
The presence of living features and the sustainable design helped achieved its goal to
draw the people nearer to nature. This approach makes the hospital doesn’t make itself
look like a hospital as result the outcome of the design is therapeutic.
Implementation of water collection, external building design for effective effect of sun,
solar thermal systems, space programming and planning are few of the terms which
NTFGH has taken into consideration.
Utilizing sawtooth pattern in design gives direct access of the people especially patients
to natural ventilation. This is the result of their exceptional studies about thermal, climate
and so forth.
Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital of Michigan, US has hospitality like a hotel,
providing additional service such as spa and also having greenhouse. According to a
farmer worker in the hospital, adding a farm is about capacity building and increasing the
hospital’s impact.
For the Henry Ford Health System, food is a natural addition to healthcare. Hospital-
based agriculture systems support local farmers and produce, boosting business and
feeding the local economy. Their goal is to create experiences that will leave people
coming back for more.
Agricultural systems on hospital campuses protect not only the health of people, but also
the health of the environment.
St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor is recognized for its community-oriented sustainability efforts
and commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. Agri-therapy program that helps
disabled and emotionally challenged persons through gardening and other outdoor
activities (Ferenc, 2017).
Saint Joseph Mercy is transforming the hospital from a place that treats illness, to a place
where health is celebrated and maintained.
The hospital not only provides access to fresh produce for its patients, staff, and visitors,
but also supports local farmers through new sales channels.
Hospital farms make food and farming both healing and exciting, encouraging people to
engage with hospitals on a more regular basis.
Involving agricultural aspects in a hospital not only assists the people with diseases but
also conserve the natural environment. Saint Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital has s
partner farm which collects the natural wastes and used to feed farm animals.
Philippine Heart Center is the first heart hospital in the country but being first indicates
age and being old doesn’t mean being outdated. PHC has the reputation for serving the
Filipino for 47 years and counting.
Like PHC Lung Center of the Philippines serves the country for a long time of 40 years
and ongoing. The specialization of these two hospitals are directly related to each other,
these facilities shall be the inspirations of the study. Due to the changes brought by time
these two specialty hospitals exert efforts concerning the changing demands of the
people.
St Luke's Medical Center, Fort Bonifacio Global City was ranked as one of the world’s
most beautiful hospital by US based magazine due to its interior design of the hospital’s
lobby having ambience of a hotel.

By the time is the innovation progress of such practice like farming, an Emirati farmer has
successfully and possibly grown rice through hydroponics. Instead of using soil, he
replaced it with nutrient water that holds the growth of the crop.
Living in this present time which brings many seen evidence and actuality of crises in
different aspects of life, is very uneasy and worrying. The ways of living of the people
mostly are the actual threats in the lives of them. People lives in very destructive ways,
degrading the nature environment which is first before people. People are components of
nature, and nature being the habitat, it is not wise to not take care of it.
Sustainable architecture is a kind of approach which considers the matters of nature
meticulously. The unique character of this approach is the non-invasive technical
innovations such as gathering of natural resources through non-destructive way rather
than using man made energies which are made in excessive CO2 emitting factories.
This approach is very flexible and versatile and is covers a wide scope so that unlocking
of possibilities is attainable.
This may impose drawing the people nearer to the nature as one of the principles of
natural law. Applying to how building should be designed and constructed results to
therapeutic environment and experience of its users.
There are many national laws which involves nature that longs to reinforce the agriculture
in Philippines. These laws passively fortify the study since Philippines is an agriculture
country.
Innovating the conventional characteristics of garden regarding aesthetic purposes,
edible landscaping or foodscaping has both qualities of economy and design. Crops and
fruit bearing plants can be also appealing at the same time it benefits the people through
the harvest.
The innovation of non-traditional planting systems referring hydroponics, aquaponics,
and aeroponics are being advocated in the congress through Plant, Plant, Plant program
as response to food threat. In addition, there are many studies globally and locally that
vertical farming is more effective than traditional horizontal farming. It can be done
through more innovative way thank to the help of technologies. This way of farming is not
only beneficial in terms of harvest but also in nature that is eventually for the people.
Less use of chemical and manpower is features through innovative farming.
Implementing aquaponics causes integration where the plants and fishes workers
symbiotically. The concepts is the waste of a living organism is food other organisms an
in circulation manner. With the system like this, nature environment will be preserved up
until to the future.
These inspirations will be applied to the study to take care of the people, meetings their
needs, satisfying the demands, giving users new experiences and learnings, increasing
health awareness, and promoting positive impacts of nature in health as well as not
leaving the nature aside instead powering it by involving aspects of agriculture in the
healthcare services.
