2. Ask the following Questions.
a. What motivates you in playing games?
b. Why is it important for game developers to understand the game market?
Interviewee 1:
a. The biggest motivation for me on playing games is my partner. All I wanted
to do is to immerse myself into his world; to relate to his hobbies; and to
understand what makes him happy.
b. I think it’s important for the developers to understand to game market for
them to adapt and adjust to the demands of the consumers (gamers) and to
produce games that will makes its own mark to the people.
Interviewee 2:
a. What motivates me is the competitive nature of games. That’s all
b. They need to know about the game market so that they can provide what
the community wants
Interviewee 3:
a. The different people I meet and compete with, the different strategies I
implement to win.
b. Game developers need to understand the game market so that game
developers will have an idea of the latest trends in the gaming industry
which will help them in developing games that will pique the interest of
users.
3. Relate their answer to the topic and present your output to the class.
We can observe that people can have different reasons or motivations on playing
games. Some intends to connect more to people, some wants to compete, and some
simply wants to have some time to entertain themselves. Aside from that, based on the
interview that I’ve conducted, all of them do believe that the game market is based on
consumer’s demands. We may or may not conclude that they have no idea about the
other factors affecting the game market. But one thing is for sure; All of these gamers do
play for the love of the game and enjoyment.
