Besides de scandals in the politics and human rights, the Qatar world cup presents other

problems. Doha, which is the capital of the country, has a desert climate, with an annual
average temperature of 27.5 degrees

As we can see in this Doha climate graph, it would have been impossible to celebrate this
event in summer (as it is usually done)due to the high temperatures , so it had to be done in
November and December, something that the public didn’t accept.

A World cup is one of the events with the most audience in the world, that is why every
football fan waits 4 years to the next one to come ,and due to the fact it was done on
November and in an Asian country, the matches timetable were at 11:00 am , 4:00 pm and
8:00 pm , which meant some workers, students and children would not be able to watch their
country play, making the World Cup less ejoyble.
Moreover, Due to the lack of football culture in Qatar and the high prices of the
establishments in Doha , we are seeing images of empty stands in the stadiums, as the bast
majority of the people cant afford it. when the normal thing is to see the stadium full of fans in
a tournoument of this characteristics.

As it started in the middle of November, the national competitions of each country had to stop
for a month and a half, so the teams had been playing more often than normally this past
months so they could finish the number of matches established before the World cup. This
brought muscle problems and injuries for a lot of players which forced them to say good bye to
this big event.

Here we have some of the big asences

As this started happening, a lot of players tried to protect themselves from injuries
downplaying the matches with their teams, as they prioritized the challenge with their
country.
In addition , in normal conditions, when a country doesn’t cualify to the World cup their
players go on vacation for resting until the start of the next season, but in this case, the season
isn’t over so they will have to keep training hard for arriving in good physical conditions to de
decesive part of the championship. They will do it, as they proffesionals, but this will surely
affect them mentally .
