1. Major cinema genres and history of British cinematography
2. Famous British film, directors and actors
3. My favorite film and an actor.

We cannot imagine our life without films. For me, the cinema is not a
slice of life, but a piece of cake.
Alfred Hitchcock I can say the same words about myself. What do people
usually do when they have free time? Most of us watch films. Nowadays there are
different cinema genres to each taste such as action films, adventures, comedies,
crime, dramas, epics, horror films, western and so on. But I would like to draw
your attention to the state and development of British cinematography in
particular. Taking a look at the history of British Film, the very first moving picture
was shot in the year 1888 by Louis Le Prince in Leeds. This was later developed on
celluloid film created in Hyde Park in London by William Friese Greene a year
later. When it comes to the history of the film industry in the UK, the names Birt
Acres and Robert W. Paul would definitely appear because they were the first
people to construct and operate a working 35mm camera in Britain! The duo also
created a movie called “Incident at Clovelly Cottage” in the year 1895. This movie
was the first British film ever made. Before the twentieth century, the British films
that were produced were more or less like everyday events. However, during the
early twentieth century, the British film industry witnessed a host of narrative
short films that consisted mainly of melodramatic movies and comedies. The
movie, “A Daring Daylight Robbery” started a new genre of movies in the UK film
industry, i.e. the chase genre. Another noteworthy figure in the UK film industry
would be Cecil Hepworth who is best known for his works in the British silent
cinema.
Nowadays british cinematography has a golden age as it starts producing mere
films on its own, whithou cooperating with other countries. Approximately 43 %
percent of feature films in UK are shot on their own. Among most famous films
which occupy todays cinemas and internet are Captain America, Jungle book (a
new version), Zootropolis, and more older ones are Harry Potter and Sherlock.
British actors also become more and more popular and they have been awarded
even several times in different nominations. Some of them are Antony Hobkins,
Benedict Camberbetch, Christian Bale. Of course any film can have success
without film directors. Among most prominent are Riddly Scot, Denny Boil, Tony
Scot and other.
As for me I prefer detective stories and films, so my favorite film is Sherlock and
favorite actor is Benedict Camberbetch who plays the main role. This serial is
based on the book written by Connan Doyal but it is a little bit modernized and
more bright. It is complicated in creating because there are very interesting flash
backs, fades. Usually 3 series are shot during a year. Benedickt makes this film
unforgettable and unique. His role is very unusual, the critics said “He had strange
appearance – slim, high with wild look”. He created a true to live image of an old
character adding some spiece into his portrayal. The most difficult in his role was
to show the process of musing, or so called a method of deduction. All his thought
should be pronounced aloud. Now Benedict is a leading actor in Royal Natioanl
theater and is popular all over the world.
