"The Coping Strategies of ABM USLT Students on Price Hike towards School Supplies”
(Qualitative)
Introduction:
The researchers will gather data using questionnaires. The questionnaire is divided into two
sections: financial behavior assessment and strategy identification. The financial behavior
assessment will consist of 5 questions assessing the different financial behaviors of the
students. While the strategy will be identified in three categories: search and refine,
identification and assessment, and evaluation and implementation, The online platform called
Google Docs will be used in order to solicit the needed information efficiently.
Questionnaire:
Financial Behavior Assessment
1. As a student, how do you manage your budget for school supply expenses?
2. What are your struggles when making decisions on managing your finances?
3. As a student consumer, have you ever felt the impact of inflation in the Philippines? If
yes, how?
4. Do you consider price as a factor in buying school supplies? Why or why not
5. How interested are you in increasing your financial knowledge? Why?
Strategy Identification
Search and Refine:
1. Do you spend most of your allowance on school supplies?
2. In average, how much allowance do you acquire weekly?
Identification and Assessment:
1. How much money do you spend on school supplies in average?
2. Based from experience, have you ever decreased your budget for necessities (food,
hygiene, etc.) in order to purchase school supplies? Elaborate.
Evaluation and implementation:
1. How often do you take time in budgeting your finances?
2. As a student, do you think it is important for you to have a system in managing your
finances? Why or why not?
