If your learning has been disrupted by Covid-19, Cambridge International allows you to apply for exemption in some components
of particular subjects in Oct/Nov 2022 exam series. These applications are called “Covid-19 exemptions” and the eligible
components include practical examinations for science, ICT subjects, and certain speaking and listening tests for language
subjects. Not all subjects available in Oct-Nov 2022 have components which are eligible for Covid-19 exemptions.
You can apply for subject component exemptions mentioned in this form and required access to equipment, facilities and
working in groups which have not been available due to Covid-19 restrictions. For example access to instruments, laboratories,
studios, audio visual equipment, sports facilities, specific software, specialist material or working with others in pairs, groups or
teams, which have not been possible as schools were closed or gatherings were banned. For more information please visit

Qualification Level and Exemptions Offered
5. Please select the qualification level for which you are applying for exemption. *
If you have registered for multiple qualification levels, please submit one form for each qualification separately.
For example, if you have registered for both IGCSE and O Level in Oct-Nov 2022, therefore you would be required
to first submit a form for IGCSE. For O Level you would need to submit a new form. Hence you would be
submitting two forms for two qualifications level separately.

6. Please choose the respective option code, subject(s) and component(s) for which an
exemption is required in O-Level. Kindly check and verify your option code, subject(s) and
component(s) carefully before selecting the options.
*
Please note that students can apply for more than one exemption, as long as the exams they sit are 50% of the
assessment.
Associated Risks for Exemptions & Data Protection Policy Terms and Conditions
7. There are specific risks associated with Covid-19 exemptions which candidates must be
fully aware of before you apply.
These are:
a) The risk of the candidate’s grade being less representative of their ability is greater if they
complete a smaller percentage of the assessment.
b) Candidates who are absent for an acceptable reason from a non-exempt component
(including, for example, illness, the need to self-isolate, or a ‘lockdown’ on the date of the
exam) may not have sufficient evidence for Cambridge to calculate and award an assessed
mark for the component they were absent for. They would therefore receive ‘NO RESULT’
c) If you submit this form more than once for a qualification, the latest form would be
considered as full and final and previously submitted form for same qualification would be
discarded.
