Cristopher López
Beginnings of the
choripan
It has been described that in the
Río de la Plata region the origin of
the choripán dates back to the mid-
nineteenth century, when in rural
areas, the Argentine gauchos used
to barbecue on the occasion of a
celebration, and the habit of eating
the chorizo inside a loaf of bread
began. This practice eventually
reached the cities and became
popular in the urban environment.
• It has become the traditional dish during soc
