yield (stretch damage) of the drillstring.
Overpull - The excess Up Drag required to hoist the drillstring at a standard speed without rotation or
circulation. (Observed Weight Indicator Load - Up Weight = Overpull).
Up Drag - The frictional resistance (drag) to upward movement of the drillstring.
(Up Weight - Rotating Weight = Up Drag).

Up Weight - The Weight Indicator load required to raise the drillstring out of the hole. Recorded on a per-
stand-drilled interval at a standard speed with no rotation or circulation.

Rotating Weight - The Weight Indicator load of the suspended drillstring while rotating and without
circulation.
Down Weight - The Weight Indicator load required to lower the drillstring into the hole. Rrecorded on
a per-stand-drilled interval at a standard speed with no rotation or circulation.

Down Drag - The frictional resistance (drag) to downward movement of the drillstring.
(Rotating Weight - Down Weight = Down Drag).
Set-Down Weight - The excess Down Drag required to lower the drillstring at a standard speed with
no rotation or circulation. (Down Weight - Observed Weight Indicator Load = Set-Down Weight).

String Set-Down Limit - The minimum safe Weight Indicator load (with no torque) to avoid
compression damage of the drillstring.
