1. INTRODUCTION

is a firearms manufacturer operating

under SYS (Samsun Yurt Savunma)
Company. The headquarters of the company is in Istanbul, Turkey
and the production facility is located in Samsun, Turkey. It is used
by law enforcement, civilians and competition shooters in 69
countries. The company is known for its TP9 Tactical Pistol series.

2. HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

The company was established in 1998 within the scope of the

Eastern Black Sea Weapons Project as the Samsun leg of the
Project. The company's weapon brand, CANIK, took its name from
the mountains of Turkey's central black sea region. The company
initially produced Browning HP and CZ 75 model pistols under the
name “CANIK 55”. In the 2000s, it changed its name to CANIK to
make it simpler and easier to remember. In the years following this
reorganization, it ranked in the top 7 in the world in the field of
pistol production and sales, and in the top 4 with its role as a
government contractor.

3. DEVOLOPMENT AND GROWTH

According to the statement made by the company, Samsun Yurt

Savunma (SYS), one of the world's leading light weapons
manufacturers with the CANIK brand, continues with its rise in the
"Top 1000 Exporters of Turkey" list announced by the Turkish
Exporters Assembly.

Increasing its exports by 60 percent, SYS rose from 368 to 311 in

the list. While SYS is among the top 10 in defense industry exports,
it has achieved the success of being the only weapon manufacturer
in the list.

While generating $49.8 million in revenue in 2020, SYS increased

its exports by 60 percent in 2021 and earned over $100 million in
 revenue, making it the third fastest growing company. New records
are expected at the end of 2022.

4. PISTOLS

As a result of long-term R&D

studies, CANIK introduced polymer-
bodied pistols known as the TP series
to the gun market. TP series guns were selected
as the duty gun of the Turkish Armed Forces and law
enforcement forces within the scope of the 'Domestic and
National Pistol' project in 2018.

In the following period, CANIK TP9 series pistols passed

the accuracy-dispersion, durability and reliability tests and received
the name METE. Today, it also serves as a duty pistol for the armed
forces and law enforcement, including special forces and special
operations units.

1ST GENERATION
TP 9 series was developed as a double action pistol with
the P9V1 model and was produced and launched in 2012
as Turkey's first polymer-bodied needle-fired gun, keeping
the civilian and official user market at the forefront.
Subsequently, the TP9V2 was developed as both single and
double action. The Turkish Police Service's pistol tender
was won in 2013. In
accordance with the global
supply-demand and
specifications, besides the
TP9 üV2, the single-action
TP9SA, TP9SF and TP9SFx
models, which stand out
with their optical sights
instead of sights, were
developed and produced.

2ND GENERATION
The second generation of the TP 9 series was produced in
accordance with the terms of the service weapon tenders
of the security forces in Turkey and in the global markets.
The most distinctive feature is that it can be used with two
hands. The TP9DA, TP9 SFMod2, TP9SF ELITE, TP9SF
ELITE-S and their derivative models are the 2nd generation
guns of the TP 9 series, replacing the TP9V2.

3RD GENERATION
The 3rd generation TP9 series pistols were developed in
2018 to meet the requirements of the Danish Army and the
United States Border and Customs Enforcement tenders.
Considering the technical requirements of these tenders,
the METE series duty pistol family was developed. This
series consists of
TP9SFx METE, TP9SFT
METE, TP9SF METE,
TP9SF METE-S and
TP9SUB METE guns.
All models produced
from the third
generation onwards
have been launched according to their operating concept.

4TH GENERATION
The last generation of CANIK pistols was produced in 2021
and no longer bears the name TP9. 4th Generation guns
have a completely modular body design and can be easily
disassembled down to the smallest part of the gun with a
single equipment. In addition, the gun's beaver tail and
trigger guard have been redesigned, and the internal
magazine funnel feature has
been added to the new bodies,

 apart from the external magazine funnel. The first
examples of these new generation CANIK models, SFx
RIVAL and TP9 SFx METE replaced METE SFx and TP9 SFT
METE was replaced by METE SFT.

5. UNIQUE FEATURES

CANIK TP9 and METE series guns stand

out among other gun manufacturers in
terms of trigger mechanism, barrel, firing
mechanism parts and coatings applied to the bolt,
which are used as a result of independent durability,
reliability and dispersion tests. Two of the most distinctive
features of CANIK pistols are the bullet distribution below 10 cm at
25 meters, even after 50,000 shots, and the special trigger
mechanism with a short set-up distance.

6. CANIK IN US

CANIK products, which have been known and trusted in the world
market for a long time, are also one of the preferred weapons in the
United States. So much so that it was chosen as the weapon of the
year in 2017, 2019, 2021 an 2022 in the USA. This demand in the
American market encouraged the company to invest here. For this
purpose, attempts were made to establish a weapons factory in
Florida, a place was provided, and the construction of the factory
started. The building has been
completed and the installation and
automation plans of the machines
have been made. It is planned to
open the factory in the first
quarter of 2023. The monthly
total production capacity at the
factory will be 15,000 units.

6.1. WHY USA IS IMPORTANT

8. MACHINE GUNS

it with the most advanced technology. CANIK M2 QCB (Quick
Change Barrel) is the latest member of CANIK's superior firearms
family. CANIK M2 QCB is the new performance enhanced version of
