PROJECTS

YouTube Comments Analysis

Guide: Dr. Sumit Kumar Yadav, Assistant Professor, IIT Roorkee Nov 2022-Nov 2022

 Comments are extracted from a YouTube video and then spam comments were identified
using the SVM algorithm and sentiment analysis was performed on the non-spam comments
 Tech stack: Machine Learning, API, NLP

Design and Analysis of Differential Gear

Guide: Dr. Avinash Parashar, AssociateProfessor, IIT Roorkee
August 2021- November 2021
 This project aimed to determine the suitable material that can be used for a differential gear
system which consists of the crown, the pinion, the sun gears, and the planet gears
 Designed the Gear parts and assembled them using Solidworks

Modeling of generated data from text documents using GANs and NLP
Guide: Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational-Sciences IIT Roorkee Chapter
March 2022-May 2022
 Discovered various methods which can be used for modeling text documents like LDA (Latent
Dirichlet Allocation), Non-Negative Matrix Factorization, GANs, etc., and finding out
why GANs are better than them
 Confusion Matrix has been used as a metric for data evaluation and Mean squared error was
used as the loss function

AUV Gripper for SAUVC’22

Guide: ASME IIT Roorkee Chapter June 2021- July 2022

 Designed and analyzed a gripper that can be used for our AUV (Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle) in SAUVC’22 and then found a suitable material that can be used for 3D printing of
the gripper by results interpretation
 Ansys fluent was used for CFD simulation and obtained the iteration results of drag
coefficient, drag force, an d pressure contours, and thus finalized the design

ASCII ART Generator

Guide: ACM IIT Roorkee May 2022 – June 2022

 The project aims at converting images first to their sketch filter and then the produced sketched image
to ASCII-encoded strings that look the same as the original image
 OpenCV and PIL have been used and the Gaussian filter was used for creating the sketched image

CFD Analysis of a Shock Tube

Guide: MIED, IIT Roorkee August 2022 – November 2022

 Simulated the flow of a fluid in a shock tube using Ansys and visualized the pressure, velocity, and
temperature variations in a shock tube after the diaphragm is ruptured

Solving Boolean SAT Problem using Grover's Algorithm

Guide: Quantum Computing Group, IIT Roorkee May 2022 – June 2022

 Found out the probabilities of all the possible combinations of the 5 SAT Dinner party problem using
Grover's Algorithm (O(root(n)) and Qasm Simulator, as well as State Vector Simulator, were used for
the simulation

PERSONAL UNDERTAKINGS
Convolutional Neural Networks for Steady Flow Approximation
July 2022- September 2022
 Proposed a general and flexible approximation model for real-time prediction of steady non-uniform
laminar flow in a 2D and 3D domain based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs)
 Found that convolution neural networks can estimate the velocity field two orders of magnitude faster
than a GPU-accelerated CFD solver or four orders of magnitude faster than a CPU-based CFD solver at
a cost of a low error rate.
 CFD simulation was done using Ansys and then the results of simulations of the CNN model and
Ansys were compared

Titanic Survival Prediction November 2022-ongoing

 Performed data cleaning and feature selection tasks to get the required features for the training of the model
which will classify whether the passenger will survive or not.
 Used both SVM (polynomial Kernel) and Random forest for the classification and Random forest provided better
results on the test data.
Building Deep Learning Models September 2022-ongoing
 Implemented various CNN models on face recognition, object recognition, and RNNs augmented with attention
mechanisms for sentiment analysis and speech recognition. Studied hyper-parameter tuning to optimize
neural network performance
