Question 1: Please assess the most likely impact of the three
leadership styles on achieving the two success criteria identified by
management.

 The Sales Department Baden-Württemberg headed by Christoph Barth

was an example of Authoritarian leadership style. Here the Head made
his own decisions based on his previous experience and not considering
any alternative suggestions from his team members. Hence less or no
chance was given to the team members. But the further steps were not
clear but the employees knew what had to be done. I guess this group
would be able to achieve results better than the third group. It would
lead to a faster decision making process since only one person is
involved. Regarding satisfaction of employees, I guess they might have
low morale and a certain level of resentment.

 The Sales Department Bavaria headed by Andrea Schöller was an

example of Democratic leadership style where decision was made by the
manager but suggestions was taken from all team members. Hence team
members were given a chance for participation in the decision making
for the new product. And the distribution of work was decided and
divided amongst themselves by team members. I guess this group would
be able to achieve results better than the other two groups. Though it
would lead to a slower decision making process as compared to 1 st, but
looking at long term this type of leadership would be effective based on
specific scenario. Regarding satisfaction of employees, I guess they
might have high morale and would tend to be more proactive with
higher level of cooperation.

 The sales department Rhineland-Palatinate headed by Hans Hermann

was an example of Authoritarian leadership style where the manager
had done complied the data for the region. And the other part was left
for the team to do it by chaos theory and the manager didn’t intervene
at all. More degree of freedom was given to the team where the roles
were unclear and this can lead to unfinished projects and lead to
communications mishap. I guess this group would be able to achieve
poor results than the other two groups. Regarding satisfaction of
employees, I guess there might be a neutral impact because it depends
on the background of the team if they have certain specific leadership
experience but if not the team would be lacking in motivation and can
reduce job efficiency of the employees in long run.

Question 2: Please explain under what circumstances other results

may occur regarding the two success criteria.

 Based on higher sales achieved by a specific team this can lead to

promotion of the specific manager and some benefits can be provided
to the team. Due to more cooperation and active participation higher
sales results can be achieved and lead to some major funding or an
increase in share price.

 There might also be a chance of people being layed off due to

inefficiency achieved during the project.

 High level of motivation can be incorporated within the employees

leading to more better output in long term and thereby improving
efficiency and sales output
