A JOB I DID WELL

“ Are you sure that you want me to be your wedding planner?” I asked for
reassurance and got the permission needed for my poor brain to start planning.
My last wish from my bucket list was coming true at last, I got an opportunity to
plan a perfect wedding; the wedding was not mine but I got the chance to design
a fairytale as if it was mine . Only a month was left for me to prepare everything ;
however , before starting the blueprints I went to the church – to pray and beg
God to increase my lifeline by a month so I can say goodbye with the relief that at
least there was a job I did well.

The perfect day arrived . It was a long wait for some but for me time passed
within a blink . An outdoor wedding in green and blue .The trees were decorated
with golden , white and violet twinkle lights. The wedding aisle was adorned in
lanterns , candles on both sides and liquid red flowers . The atmosphere was
embraced with the aroma of Cabernet Sauvignon wine , milk-chocolate and
fragrance of freesia , orange blossoms and many more . The scent around the
garden was almost intoxicating but not overwhelming , the balance of different
fragrances was subtle and flawless . In addition white blossoms hung in garlands,
dripping with long lines of velvet gossamer ribbons and satin-draped chairs.

The clock came to the time which dear groom was waiting anxiously. I went to the
piano and started playing the classic by Wagner , “here comes the bride” . I felt a
slight tinge of jealousy when I saw them changing vows . I also once upon a time
dreamed of wearing a ball gown designed only for me by Christina Wu; although
all dreams don’t become a reality.

And God can be cruel . As soon they were announced husband and wife , I
collapsed. My time was over but at least I could say their wedding was perfect
and there was a job I did well.
