2.Installation

1)Movingthemachine

WARNING
•When liftingthemachine,bend yourknees nottooverloadyourwaist.
•The machinewithcut steel chipsis slippery. Whenliftingthe machine,use caution
nottodropitonthefeetofa user.

2)Installation
DANGER
•Always earth the machinetopreventelectric shockandtheensuingdeath.
•Do nottheplugwitha wethand.
•Do notputthe machineat a rainy orwateryplace.Donotuse itat a humidplace.
Humiditywill deterioratemotorinsulationor causeelectric shock.
• If powerplug,powercord,orextensioncordis damaged,replace it instantly.
•The connectingwire shouldbea Three-core cabtyrecable withearthwire.
For outdooruse,use a thickanddurablecord.

WARNING
•Do notinstall earth wire onthethinpipe.It maycause explosion.
•Never use themachineat a place where gasoline,thinner,inflammableliquids,or
gases are present.Otherwise,it maycauseignitionorexplosion.

(1)Installthemachineatnohumidplace.
(2)Place themachineontheflatsurfaceorflatworkbench.
(3)Secure enoughspace near the machine.Especially when youhandle a long,heavypipe,
widespaceissafe.
(4)Whencuttinga long,heavypipe,themachinemayfall.Thus,usea pipesupport.
Otherwise,themachinemayfall.
(5)Install a earth leakagecircuit breakertopowersourcetoavoidelectric shock(current of
themachine:15A).
(6)Whenusinga powersocketwithnoearthbase,useanearthclip.
(7)Whenusingconnectingwires,applytheonessuitablefortherelevantregulations.
1 . Checkingtheearthandearthleakagecircuitbreaker

Before using the machine, check if power device connected to this machine is equipped with
a residual-current operated circuit breaker suitable for industrial safety and health laws and t
echnology standards ofelectric equipment.
Always earth this machine. When using a power supply device suitable for an earth leakage
circuit breaker operating with maximum 15mAof rated sensitivity current and maximum 0.1 s
econd ofoperating time, it is recommended toearth the machine for safety.a
If you have a testing machine or insulation meter, check any correlation between earth clip and
metal frame of the machine. Earthing (to connect earth wires to earth rod (earth plate or earth
bar) buried in the earth should be done by a qualified electrician.

2. Connecting wire
If connecting wire can be used for a power device in the distance, it should be thick enough to
transmit the current. Besides, the product should be ensured to use effectively to the maximum
without trouble. Connecting wire to be used should be a Three-core cabtyre cable with earth
cores.

3. Properworkenvironment
Workshop should be arranged in order according to the clauses in the operation manual.

Noise control
Noise is controlled according to the relevant principles. The machine should
be operated under the control values to avoid inconvenience to the vicinity.
Under certain situations, noise barriers may be necessary.

3. O p e r a t i o n

1)Work preparation

CAUTION

• For your own safety before operating this unit, read this instruction manual
carefully and completely.

1. Set the Level Adjuster at a proper position and clamp


it.
2. Connect the Power Cable to power supply.
3. Close Valve and set the cutting speed to “0”. Lift the
Frame and stop it going down. (Fig 1.3)
4. Turn the Tension Handle until it locks, to stretch the
Saw Blade.
5. Set the Flat Vise-R to the desired cutting angle and

clamp it with an Allen Wrench.
6. Place the workpiece on the Vise and turn the Clamp
Handle to hold the workpiece. The Flat Vise-F is of
quick clamping type. Pull up the Clamp Rod, bring the
Flat Vise-F near the workpiece, and clamping can be
done quickly. (Fig 2)
7. Open the Valve located beside the Cylinder. (Fig 1)
8. Turn the Cutting Speed Adjust Knob by a half turn,
and bring the Saw Blade near to the workpiece. Be
careful not to allow the Saw Blade to hit the workpiece.

9. Press the ON Switch and set the Cutting Speed
Adjust Knob to the proper speed for the workpiece.

10. When the workpiece is cut through, the machine
automatically stops.
※ When cutting a long workPiece, use a Pipe Support.
11. When not in use for a long tine, turn the tension
handle in the direction to decrease the Saw-Blade
tension. Fig 3

CAUTION
•Choose the correct Saw Blade.

•Choose the Saw Blade which is suitable for the material be cut.
2) Replacing the Saw Blade

WARNING
• When adjusting, servicing or changing accessories switch off and disconnect
Power Cord.

1. Close the Valve located beside the Cylinder. (Fig 1)


2. Back Plate of the Frame is divided into two parts. Pull down
each part on the lip to remover it. When it is removed, slide it
sideways. (Fig 2) Fig 1
3. Turn the Tension Handle counterclockwise to release the
spring force, and move the Following Pulley downward. Clean
the new Saw Blade of oil thoroughly before setting it on the
machine. (Fig 4)
4. Set the Saw Blade in the Saw Blade Guides at the right and
left. Make the Saw Blade ride on the Saw Blade Receiving Fig 2
Washer, and mount the Saw Blade on the Pulleys. (Fig 3)
5. Turn the Tension Handle clockwise to stretch the Saw Blade,
Be sure to turn the Tensiion Handle until it locks. (Fig 4)
6. Switch on the power. After making sure the Saw Blade has
come right on the Pulleys, switch off the power.

※ Saw Blades of other manufacturers must not be used.


Order replacement Saw Blades by specifying as “Saw Blade
for KSU Band Saw-320”.

3) Chain Clamp

CAUTION

• For your own safety before operating this unit, read this instruction manual
carefully and completely.

Clamp lighty

A long workpiece not properly supported by a


Pipe Support may be cut obliquely. The Chain
Clamp is used to hold down the workpiece and
prevent oblique cut, and also to cut thin
workpieces together in a bundle. Fig 1

Operating procedure
1. Place the workpiece on the Vise, and turn the
Clamp Handle to clamp lighty. (Fig 1)
2. Place the Chain Clamp around the workpiece and
set the Chain on the Hooks of the Vise at four
points. A round workpiece should be placed along
the V groove of the Chain Clamp. (Fig 2) Fig 2
3. Turn the Chain Clamp Knob to clamp lightly.

4. Turn The Clamp Handle again to clamp the
workpiece firmly. (Fig 1)

4) Supplying hydraulic oil

Replenish hydraulic oil df the ISO VG-32 specification to the top leverl of the oil gage.
5) Lifting the machine

When lifting the machine with a crane, operate carefully.


The four arrow on the side of the Vise indicate the
positions for balancing.
Never lift the machine with the frame. (Fig 1)

6) Over-load Protector

When over-loaded and excess current is sent, this device will


automatically operate and the machine will stop.
When the machine stops, disconnet power cord and clear th cause of
over-load. After one minute or more, start operation again at a lower
speed.

4. M a i n t e n a n c e & i n sp e c t i o n

1) Correction of oblique cut

CAUTION

• The machine you have purchased is movable and, unlike permanent installation
type, may be subject to impact during transfer or other causes resulting in oblique
cut in the follwing procedure.

1. Prepare a pipe of, for example,


12”galranized iron pipe.
2. Cut off the end of the pipe. Hex Bolt

3. Give the pipe a half turn and cut off a piece


about 5mm in thickness.
4. Measure the thickness of the piece with
vernier calipers at the top, bottom, left and Adjust Knob Fig 1

right. A half the difference of the


thicknesses at opposite ends of a diameter
represents the amount of oblique cut.
5. In case the thickness differs between top
an bottom.
① When the piece is thicker at the top than
at the bottom (outward oblique cut)

Loosen the Reference Shaft. Turn two
silver-colored Adjust Knobs clockwise.
One turn of the Knob reduces the
deviation by about 2mm. (Fig 1, 2)
② When the piece is thicker at the bottom
than at the top (inward oblique cut) Turn
the Adjust Knobs counterclockwise

Loosen the Angle Adjusting Hex Bolt, Oblique Cut Adjusting

and access a small Hexagonal Head Bolt Fig 1

counterclockwise. One turn of the knob
reduces the deviation by about 2mm.

the Saw Blade Guide F than the other :

to 6-1. (Fig 2)
7. When the adjustment is complete, be sure
to retighten all the Bolts and Nuts which
have been loosened.

WARNING
•Before correcting oblique cutting, always pull out the power cord. The machine
may work suddenly and cause an injury.

2)Daily inspection andmaintenance

CAUTION
•Do not allow the motor to get the water.

If power plug, power cord or extension wire is damaged, replace it instantly.


Check if saw blade’s teeth are blunt or damaged. If teeth are blunt, replace it in
stantly (For replacing the saw blade, see “1-1) Replacement of a saw blade.”

Check ball bearing of the blade stop device and ball bearings of the rear stop de
vice. If not installed properly, cutting accuracy will be decreased. If ball bearings
are worn out, replace them as soon as possible. (Replace all bearings on both)

Saw blade

1. Check if any loose screw is present in the parts. If loose screw is used, it may cause danger.
Tighten itagain.
2. Wipe out dust and chips from the machine.
When not using the machine for a long time, coat the machine with rust-proof grease (oil).
3. Check if the screw locked in the part is loose. If loose screw is used, it may cause danger.
Tighten itfirmly.
4. Remove dust and steel chips in the machine completely.
