Nebraska before making a dramatic early morning arrival in Denver, Colorado. From there the train
climbs into the Rocky Mountains and snakes through the canyons of Utah and the Nevada desert before
taking a slow stroll through the Sierra Nevada mountains of California.

The train arrives in San Francisco in late afternoon with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. The entire
journey takes about 71 hours and is the longest train ride in the United States.
