FOR VISITING VISA APPLICATIONS
 DOCUMENT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
All documents will be submitted in PDF format – scanned in color.

Documents with multiple pages shall be scanned into one document (e.g.
Transcript should only be one document, not multiple pages).

Documents must be properly labeled with your name and title of the
document (e.g. – Florence Akpan – Transcript)

All documents should be submitted through your client portal. Documents

submission through email is not acceptable.

Fees of $10 will be charged per document submitted not meeting

requirements.

 INVITATION LETTER (IF APPLICABLE)
You must include this information about the person you are inviting:
Complete
Name (as it appears on passport),
Date of birth,
Address and telephone number,
Your relationship to the person,
The purpose of the trip,
How long the person plans to stay in Canada,
Where the person will stay, how he or she will pay for things, and
When the person plans to leave Canada.

You must include this information about yourself:

Complete name,
Date of birth,
Address and telephone number in Canada,
Job title,
Your status in Canada (Citizen, PR, or temporary resident).

*Photocopy of a document proving your status in Canada, such as a study

permit or work permit.*

 INVITER’S STATUS AND DOCUMENTS
Proof of Status
If you are a permanent resident, provide the following: Permanent
Resident Card (two sides).
If you are a student or temporary worker, provide a copy of your study
permit or work permit.
If you are a Canadian Citizen, provide proof of Canadian citizenship or a
Canadian passport.
International Passport - Regardless of your status, provide a copy of your
international passport if you haven’t already.

PROOF OF INVITER’S ACTIVITY IN CANADA

If you are a student, provide recent copies of the following documents:
Academic transcript, and
Letter of enrollment.

If you are employed, provide recent copies of the following documents:

An employment reference letter,
3 payslips, and
Notice of Assessment (if applicable).

If you are self-employed, provide recent copies of the following documents:
Business Registration,
Financial statements, and
T2.

PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP
For spouse - marriage certificate.
For common-law partner - proof of common-law relationship (12 months).
For childbirth certificate.
For parent – birth certificate.
For sibling – marriage certificate of parents and birth certificates.

APPLICANT(S) IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

International Passport (Bio-data page of passport and all stamped pages)
(valid for up to at least 1 year from application date).
Proof of status if not in the country of residence.
Digital Photo - One Scanned digital photograph, face only against a white
background. Size 35mm X 45mm.

 ACCOMMODATION
Rental Accommodation – If you’ll be staying with someone who is renting,
please provide – a Canadian rental agreement.

Home Ownership Accommodation - If you’ll be staying in a home that is owned

by the inviter, please provide homeownership documents.

Hotel Accommodation – If you’ll be staying at a hotel, please provide hotel

reservations. You can use Booking.com or Expedia.ca, or Airbnb.

PROOF OF APPLICANT(S) ACTIVITY

If you are a student, provide recent copies of the following documents:
Academic transcript, and
Letter of enrollment.

If you are employed, provide recent copies of the following documents:

Employment reference letter
Vacation leave letter, and
3 payslips.

If you are self-employed, provide recent copies of the following documents:
Business registration,
Financial statements,
Invoices, and
Tax clearance document.

PROOF OF FUNDS
Total Funds required for the planned trip
• Flight
• Accommodation
• Living Expense while in Canada

Provide a 6-month bank statement or investment letter.

Large deposits would need to be explained and accompanied by supporting
documents.
Letter of Financial Support (if sponsored)
It is advisable that funds designated for the trip be a portion of the total funds
available.

 PROOF OF TIES IN NIGERIA
Proof of Ties in Nigeria: These may include
Family
Financial Assets
Landed Properties
Employment
Businesses
Investments

This is basically any proof to show that if you had no legal status to remain in
Canada upon completion of your studies, you would return to your home
country.

CONSENT LETTER
This is required if only one parent is traveling with a child.
Required for each child on the application.

Previous application forms submitted.
The previous Immigration refusal letter.
