Q.1 Using Gauss’s law prove that the electric field at a point due to a uniformly charged infinite plane sheet is
independent of the distance from it. How is the field directed if (i) the sheet is positively charged, (ii) negatively
charged?

coordinate system as shown in fig. The electric field in the region is given by 𝐸⃗ = 50x 𝑖̂, where E is in N/C and x is in
metres. Find (i) net flux through the cylinder, (ii)charge enclosed by the cylinder.

the centre of a square of side d, as shown in fig. Use Gauss’s law to obtain the expression for the electric flux through
the square. (b). If the point charge is now moved to a distance d from the centre of the square and the side of the square
is doubled, explain how the electric flux will be affected.
