Abstract

The Impact of performance Evaluation on Workers'

Motivation for Work at Health Sector in Tabuk Region in
Saudi Arabia

Oadeh Salem Ale'tewei

Mu'tah University, 2007

This study aimed to identify the impact of career performance

evaluation system through its dimensions, fairness, objectivity
effectiveness, model, technique and time suitability, on motivation of
workers at health sector in tabuk area in Saudi Arabia. A developed
questionnaire was distributed in order to achieve the objectives of the
study. The population of the study (3450) consisted of doctors, nurses,
technicians and administrators. The sample of the study consisted of (690)
subjects and selected randomly from the population of the study. The valid
returned questionnaires for statistical analysis were (582). The Simple
Regression Analysis and One- Way ANOVA from the Statistical Package
for Social Sciences (SPSS) were used to analyze data. The results of the
study were the following:
1. Employees' Attitudes towards evaluation of performances were
positive and high and the motivation level for workers was high too.
2. There was statistically significant effect of evaluating performance
on motivation for work for employees at health sector in Tabuk
region.
3. There were significant statistical differences in workers' attitudes
towards performance evaluating and motivation level in health sector
which attributed to demographic variations ( gender, age,
qualifications, experience, the nature of work, social status and
workplace).
The study has recommended a number of recommendations: the
necessity of enhancing the positive sides of the evaluation system which is
already used in health sector in Tabuk to improve and increase the workers'
satisfaction. The study recommended to computerize the career
performance evaluation system to be more accurate than the current
system.
