Research Assistant
PI: Naila Shofia (NUS-Economics/Yale-NUS College)

We are looking for a Research Assistant for the project “Labor Market Matching and Social Norms
in Indonesia”. The RA will be working full-time/part time in January – June 2023 with possible
extension when mutually agreed. The project aims at understanding workers characteristics desired
by employers in the Indonesian Labor Markets and how these preferences are to meet with social
norms in society. This opportunity is suitable for recent graduates who desire to continue to a
higher degree in economics or social sciences, as the PI is working with professors from reputable
universities such as Harvard and Bocconi.

Responsibilities
o Building and maintaining relationship with research partners
o Preparing literature review, background research, and other draft content for grant
proposals, academic papers, and project reports
o Collecting and managing datasets as needed
o Conducting statistical analyses using Stata or R

Qualifications
Essential
o Bachelor’s/master’s degree in economics or related field
o Sincere interest in economic research in general
o Knowledge of Randomized Control Trials
o Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and in English (written and oral)
o Excellent command of Ms. Office suite (word, xlsx, ppt)
o Substantial training in quantitative methods
o Programming proficiency in Stata or R

Desirable
o Graduate level course in econometrics/research method
o Prior experience on field research projects and RA work
