Report on accident involving Whitney Brown on the school’s football field on September 19th,
2019.
I wish to report that Whitney Brown, one of the midfielders of the senior team, sustained an
injured leg in an accident yesterday during the lunch period at approximately 12:15 p.m on Thursday 19th
September, 2019.
The incident occurred during a routine practice session on the school’s football field. The senior
football team was playing against the junior team in preparation for the Inter College Football League
Competition which is scheduled for next week.
It occurred as Whitney Brown obtained the ball and was running towards the goal post. Tina King,
who was given a warning for rough play earlier in the game, was in pursuit of Whitney and tripped her.
Whitney then flipped over, hit the goal post and injured her leg.
The referee, the Physical Education assistant teacher, Ms. Desha McLeod, stopped the game
immediately and ordered two students to assist Whitney Brown. Whitney was placed in the back seat of the
Vice Principal’s car and was taken to San Fernando General Hospital. She was treated and kept in ward 8 for
routine observation.
It is my recommendation that Tina King be suspended from the junior team for her dangerous play
on the field.
