V5.4 SP2

Version 5.4 SP2 has the following changes as compared to version 5.4 SP1:
 With Service Pack 2, DOCPRO V5.4 can now also be run on STEP 7 V5.5 SP 1 under Windows
7 Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise: 32 and 64 bit and Windows Server R2 2008 Standard Edition,
64-bit with and without SP1.
 The OS documentation via DOCPRO has been improved.

V5.4 SP1

In comparison to Version 5.4, Version 5.4 SP1 contains the following changes:
The adaptation of the User Account Control under MS Vista has been optimized for the requirements of
STEP 7 V5.4 SP4.

V5.4
Compared to the previous version V5.1 SP2, version 5.4 contains the following
enhancements or modifications:
 DOCPRO is executable under the MS Windows Vista Ultimate and MS Windows Vista Business
operating systems.
 If DOCPRO is installed, the standard object "Documentation" is no longer automatically created in
the SIMATIC Manager when a new project is set up. This prevents the issuing of a warning
message when a project is opened on a computer with a STEP 7 installation without DOCPRO.

If the standard object "Documentation" is not yet present, the project has to be selected in the
Open dialogue of DOCPRO. The standard object is then created – after a query – when you exit
the dialog. Alternatively, the standard object can be previously created in the SIMATIC Manager
by means of the menu command Insert > Project documentation.
 The license concept was changed from AuthorsW to Automation License Manager.
 DOCPRO was expanded for logging on via the SIMATIC Logon Service. Projects with access
protection can only be opened if the user is logged on to the SIMATIC Logon Service. If the
SIMATIC Manager is not started, the logon dialog of the Logon Service is opened before the
opening of the project.
 DOCPRO is also executable on a terminal server. In this case with the limitation that only one
instance of DOCPRO can be started on a terminal server.
 DOCPRO bases its date and time settings on the settings in the SIMATIC Manager. These
settings are either based on the "ISO 8601 Standard" or local settings for a particular country.
 Style adjustments were made to the user interface. The toolbar is no longer displayed in 3D style
but rather in flat style, as also in the SIMATIC Manager.

V5.1 SP2
Compared to the previous version V5.1 SP1, version 5.1 SP2 contains the following
enhancements or modifications:

Layouts
· There are two new layout sets that permit the project data to be documented in Japanese and
Chinese when using the English GUI.
· An English layout is provided for situations in which a language without its own layout is used as the
project language. This layout is adapted to font of the respective project language when the project
data is configured.
· The layout is no longer selected by the GUI language; it is set by selecting the project language even
when the project is set to "neutral".

V5.1 SP1

Compared to the previous version V5.1 , version V5.1 SP1 contains the following
enhancements or modifications:
· DOCPRO has been adapted and released for operation under Windows XP.
· Several errors were corrected.

V5.1
Compared to the previous version V5.0, version V5.1 contains the following
enhancements or modifications:

Configuration in a wizard for creating wiring manuals

· You can insert objects in a structure you already know from SIMATIC Manager: You can choose a
technological and hierarchy view. In this view you can see which objects can be printed or not.
· The wizard has been enhanced by an additional step for you to determine the sequence for inserting
objects.

Acquisition of specific settings from an existing project

You can acquire the settings from an existing project when you create a new documentation. Here you
have the option of specifying these settings once in a reference project and then to implement them in
new projects. The following settings can be acquired:
· Global settings
· Print object type configuration
· Layout specification
· Footers

DOCPRO with STEP 7 and PCS 7

A default selection of print object types is carried out when you install DOCPRO – irrespective whether
you have STEP 7 or PCS 7 installed on your system –.
Layouts
· New layouts are available as of version 5.1. They are identified with the digit "7" at the fifth position of
the layout name.
· Some of the fields of existing layouts have been modified in order to provide sufficient space for
longer entries and to prevent entries from being cut off.
· Installation of DOCPRO includes new and corrected layouts. They are automatically available for new
projects.
Projects you have created in previous versions of DOCPRO can be implemented in new and
corrected layout when you open the project. You can also carry out an explicit update. In DOCPRO
you can simply replace footers without having to use a graphic program.
· DOCPRO offers a zoom option for the layout preview.

Footers
The footer groups have been rearranged in the property sheets of the "Object properties" dialog.
The following footers have been supplemented; content is automatically entered:
· $55 – Person who created the object
· $56 – Date when the object was created (Date/time-of-day)
· $57 – Object modified on (Date/time-of-day)
· $58 – first network on page
· $59 – Symbolic object name
· $60 – Object comment (max. 20 characters)
The assigned layout controls the footers in the "Object properties" dialog:
· Gray – The footers cannot be edited. If you have modified your on-screen view, these footers are
shown in a different color.
· White – The footers can be edited
· "hidden" – The footers cannot be used for this object

Editing footer data

DOCPRO offers export to csv files for quick editing of high footer data volumes. These can then be edited
in a spreadsheet program.

New print functions

· You can now print the document directory separately.
· You can prevent printing of the document directory when you print your documentation.
· You can specify the page range you want to print.
· When you print to file you can select a specific directory for storing your print file. When you create
multiple print files, the filenames are automatically incremented consecutively.
· For page numbering the sequence identifier (+/-) has been added.

Cover sheet
Cover sheets are inserted directly into the job list and automatically incremented.
