I have learned that audit documentation is important because it proves that the audit

was performed in accordance with the appropriate and applicable framework like the
PSA since audit documentation is also the basis for the auditor's report. This also
enables the team to be responsible for their work when certain circumstances happen
because all the procedures performed and evidence obtained are documented.
Therefore, allowing auditors to have a certain level of accountability when there are
inconsistencies.
