OFFICIAL BROCHURE OF

CALCUTTA
YOUTH MEET
CHAPTER: RESURECTION
ABOUT: SCRIPT PRODUCTIONS
We are a decade old independent group of school and college students
across India, sharing common love for media in general and lms in
particular. Based in the city of Kolkata, they now wish to share the
platform with individuals interested in any similar aspects. Amidst the loud
cacophony of di erent worlds and their pleasures, we have lost the
Olympus of our Greeks. Calcutta- the city of joy! The city where people
prefer Esplanade to Pantaloons, a city where street foods outdo the hard
work of Starbucks and Pizza Hut, where Park Street is the richest place
and Durga puja means Kumartuli.

It has been the cherished heaven to those who has loved the city and
even to those experiencing the "bangaliana". The growth of this city has
been something to be wondered about. From Satyajit to Nolan; Kishore
Kumar to Steven Wilson; Mohiner Ghoraguli to Poets of the fall, Calcutta
has it all. This is probably why this city faces uncertainty in its
renaissance; for everyday is marked with a change to be admired. Like in
every other city, the youth, here, hold a sky of talents which probably
don't get exposed in a big stage.

ABOUT: CALCUTTA YOUTH MEET
Calcutta Youth Meet is a platform for the U-25 boys and girls to amaze us
in every way they can! To add to the elegance of the event, the theme of
CYM changes annually, celebrating the anniversaries of the vast Indian
Cinema and respected dignitaries. The crowd is what keeps CYM going.
Taken initiatives to set a parallelism amidst the Hindi and Bengali medium
schools as well.

CYM wholeheartedly welcomes the Youth of Calcutta to get the city on its
feet. It serves an exposure on a larger scale and also meet various people
of other genres and some of them are celebrities too! CYM has been
blessed to have many such people who have helped build it in a manner
direct or indirect. The Ray family and many people who had been
associated with Satyajit Ray have helped forge Script Production and
hence CYM as a whole.

The members are admirable and their e orts have brought CYM to where
it stands presently. The stage is going to be set in the days to come. Soon
comes another day to make memories. Another theme to cherish and
another set of people to meet. We wish to see you soon. So, folks, armour
yourselves and shine your swords as soon as you can; for when the
Master calls, you are going to ght a battle like never before!

A DECADE OF CELEBRATING ENTERTAINMENT
Having came across a quite long path, the team holds back memories
both happy and sad, emotions both meek and aggressive, feelings,
struggles, co-operation, moments, and most importantly the unity and the
interest of the youth generation. Script Productions began with seven
enthusiastic, spirit driven teenage boys who united to make their rst ever
short lm. The startup was never easy. With the nancial challenges just
like every other teenage boy/girl faces, scripts started with “zero budget”
short lms pooling all the pocket money to accommodate the expenses
within the limit. The lm was made within 3 days and not to forget that the
e orts of those 7 juvenile brought to them the rst prize throughout India
and thus those youngsters got their con dence boosted up and started
working on their dream and it’s on them for what we are today. That group
of 7 youngsters is now a big family having diversi ed, nerdy, weird and
awesome new-age gang of boys and girls looking out for each other at
every step wanting to bring about a change in the society. Script
Productions did their rst theatre production in 2015 and from then they
never turned back. Many celebrities have supported and encouraged the
members of Script including the ‘Shahenshah’ of Indian Cinema, Mr.
Amitabh Bachchan himself who has been the biggest inspiration for them.
The team has also been fortunate enough to have support from people
like Tinnu Anand, SS Rajamouli, Sandip Ray, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and
many such names from the Indian entertainment industry.

Last but of course not the least having

left behind a trail of milestones of
achievements, we at Script are looking
forward to create more memories, win
more awards and expand our family with
the augurs of society and most
importantly involve the youth generation
and provide them a bold platform to
showcase their talent and prove their
worthiness to their friends, family and
everyone who even for once have tried
to criticise them for having their interests
expressed.

CHAPTER: RESURRECTION
We are well versed with the phrase “Youth when stands united can shatter any
wall”. The city of joy has witnessed young talents arising since the day it was
born whenever a situation called for us. Being a citizen it would be safe to say
that the words ‘Calcutta’ and the ‘youth’ blend as smoothly as the yin to yang.
Calcutta Youth Meet as the name cites has been the biggest and brightest
event for the group of youngsters who always have had the foresight to
something so beautiful and spectacular. Last year the city witnessed a blast of
entertainment with the event of Calcutta Youth Meet, Chapter 6 which had its
theme as the ‘Final Chapter’ , of course not aware of the fact that the future
was having plans for the team again. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in his series of the
famous Sherlock Holmes tried ending it by making Holmes die in the story but
we do remember the craze right? The fan craze , those energised spirits
couldn't accept the abrupt ending and hence the plot twist had to be made by
the author.

Although in the book of 1891 , The nal Problem had Sherlock

dead, but the author couldn't stop from reviving the character
seeing the interest of the nerds and hence the book THE RETURN
OF SHERLOCK HOLMES where we see that Holmes has been
only fake dead for 3years and not ten and the story continues.

Having the same case repeated with us,

we couldn’t hold back ourselves seeing
the spirit and the interest and enthusiasm
of the youngsters from organizing another
big fest. Since we have already claimed
the chapter 6 of CYM to be “The Final
Chapter“ ,hence to start a new journey
again this time we have set o to organize
the grand event in a way even bigger, a
little more bolder and of course
monumental enough with diversi ed
categories for broader spectrum of events
for all the whippersnappers out there from
the lanes of the city waiting to bloom and
attract the attention of everyone just like
the garden fresh, gleaming and aromatic
orets in the yard of every house. Hence
having the theme of the event as
‘Resurrection’ we are returning to the city
of joy once again for Calcutta Youth Meet:
Chapter 7.

MESSAGE FROM: THE FOUNDER’S DESK
There is a di erence between hope and belief. My grandfather used to
say what we face is in uenced by what we want. There is nothing that
can’t be achieved if one truly wants it.

Calcutta Youth Meet is more of a dream to me than that of a platform. The

dream was to bring the youth of the cultural capital, together, to make
something BIG!

The former capital of the country needs to be relevant again, and it will
not be possible without the love and support of the ones, who would
mould di erent industries of tomorrow. This festival celebrates Calcutta,
the culture and most importantly, the people whose contribution made all
of us proud.

If anyone ever told you that you are not competent enough to do
something, this is your chance. Come join us, and lets together, make
Calcutta relevant again!

What Calcutta cultivates today, the country plans tomorrow. The City of Joy is the cultural

most desirable places to do business. The city stands recognized as Eastern India’s business
and nancial capital. With its thriving economy and connectivity, our city is bridging the gap
between it and other states by welcoming business. We are cordially inviting investors to
explore a youth festival, the Calcutta Youth Meet and bystand the response that they get from
the youth of Kolkata.

THE SOCIAL YARD

Social yard is a project for helping the people living in our neighbourhood and in the more densely
populated areas to make living a little easier and accessible. Throughout the years many NGOs and
Schools/ Colleges have taken it as an initiative to help these people by donating clothes, food,
medicine, money, old things etc.

In previous years we have contributed a little in this activity by running a social drive in which we
donated old/new clothes, newspapers (recycling), food and many more such things. This time too
we'll be joining hands together and work on something greater than before, with new ways to help
out poor/ less resourced people in and around Calcutta. The goal is that the visit aims at a certain
issue that can be solved and the result continues to stay that way for a long period of time.

Alokananda Roy, Tridib Chatterjee, Dr. BD Mukherjee to have come and speak in our talk shows.
The 10th year celebration will de nitely have this venture executed in a bigger and better way than

CALCUTTA CONNECTS: BUSINESS VERTICALS
SPORTS
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. In order to prevent Jack from becoming a dull boy, it
is extremely essential to inject the sports culture within him. With the purpose of in uencing the
youth and creating a hype amongst them, the Calcutta Youth Meet has included the sports vertical.
The motive is simply to spread awareness among the youth about the importance of involvement in
sports and other physical activities that not only booster their physical health but also foster a
healthy mental state.

AUTOMOBILES
There has been a graphical rise in the popularity of automobiles amongst the young adults in recent

automobiles among the several verticals. This step will give them an insight about this particular
industry. Along with that, it is going to act as a catalyst to boost up their interest in the eld of
automobiles.

EDUCATION
“A pen is mightier than the sword”. With proper education, a human being has the ability to
conquer the world. Although education and knowledge is said to be free, in today’s world children
are having to buy it with money. It has become a commodity rather than an asset. But
unfortunately, not everyone has the required capability to a ord the best education facilities.
Therefore, to provide an opportunity for all to develop equally, the Calcutta Youth Meet has
included the education vertical. The direct motive is to provide the less privileged section of the
youth with opportunities that help them germinate and shine. Through this, they will have a golden
chance to explore their interests in the eld of education.

CALCUTTA CONNECTS: BUSINESS VERTICALS
PRINT
Books are always a man’s greatest companion and history has been a witness to it. In
contemporary times, di erent methods are being adopted to endow the youth with knowledge but
books still continue to be the most reliable source of knowledge. However, sadly, today’s
generation does not really value books and fails to comprehend its worth in spite of our city being
a book lover’s hub ever since the ancient times. In order to prevent this rich culture from
diminishing, the Calcutta Youth Meet proudly includes print as one of its verticals. This vertical is
going to leave an impact on the youth and mould them in a way that in the coming future, they will
be able to set an example for the others.

FOOD
Bengal is a paradise for food lovers. Its wide range of exotic and delightful dishes makes the state
the rst choice of “bhojonroshiks”. And where to nd the perfect blend of palates than the city of
Joy. The culture of Bengal is inaugurated within its various dishes. Therefore the Calcutta Youth
Meet could not a ord to not include food as one of its verticals. This is going to provide every
visitor with an opportunity to explore di erent cuisines within one area without migrating in literal
terms and ll their hearts with jubilance.

PHARMA
We have often heard it being said that “Health is Wealth”. But sadly, in this twenty rst century, the
youth is prone to several health problems due to several reasons, mostly, unhealthy lifestyle.
Therefore, to stimulate an awareness among them about the importance of maintaining a good
health, the Calcutta Youth Meet has included Pharma among its several verticals. The vertical does
not only concern their physical well being, but also takes into account their mental health because
in recent times, there has been a graphical rise in the number of young adults being victims of
mental illnesses. To prevent this data from escalating, it is extremely essential to bring about a
change that we look forward to do from this particular vertical.

Every individual in today’s world tries to keep up with the growing trends, particularly the youth.
They are eager to maintain a lifestyle that is well versed with worldwide trends. To gratify these bon
vivant, the Calcutta Youth Meet has included lifestyle as one of its verticals. These enthusiastic
young adults will get to explore this vertical that will cater to their interests.

TECH
There has been an escalation in the popularity and usage of technology, especially among young
adults in the recent times. The use of tech has gained massive importance in today’s world.
Therefore, the Calcutta Youth Meet incorporates tech as one of its verticals. The youth will have a
chance to explore their interests in this industry and in the future they might even contribute to it.

FINANCE
As fostering individuals, it is crucial to have a proper knowledge and understanding about nances,
especially in this era. Keeping this in mind, the Calcutta Youth Meet has incorporated nance as
one of its verticals. This is going to expose the youth to this industry and they will have a chance to

ENTERTAINMENT
All the young adults under one sky, chanting the same line in harmony, that is what we call unity.
The youth themselves should witness this unison and to make this happen, the Calcutta Youth
