Green Cloud Computing Architecture

This document summarizes a technical seminar on green cloud computing. It discusses how increased demand for computing resources has led to significant energy consumption and carbon emissions from data centers. Green cloud computing aims to address this by saving energy, reducing carbon footprints, and lowering operational costs through techniques like virtualization, use of nano data centers, and dynamic voltage and frequency scaling. The seminar covered what cloud computing and its main services are, why shifting to green cloud is important, the architecture of green cloud computing, and techniques to make clouds more environmentally friendly.

Problem Statement
● Because of the increased demand for computer resources, the number of
cloud-based data centers has grown dramatically in recent years.

● As more data centers have been built, the energy consumption of these
data centers has grown significantly.
● In addition to significant energy consumption, there is an additional
environmental effect in the form of carbon-dioxide emissions.

● There is a solution where people have already invested in their own

renewable energy supply , ie…
Solution:

Green Cloud Computing

refers to the environmental benefits of switching your IT
services to the cloud. The benefits of green cloud computing
are focused on three major directions:

● Energy saving
● Carbon - footprint reduction
● Lowering the operational costs
What is Cloud Computing?

“Cloud Computing is a paradigm in which information is

permanently stored in servers on the internet and cached
temporarily on clients that include desktops, entertainment
centers, table computers, notebooks, wall computers,
hand-helds, sensors, monitors,etc ”

DATA CENTER
Why Shift to Green Cloud Computing?
● Data centers are not only
costly to operate, but they are
also harmful to the
environment.
● Data centres are now
responsible for a greater
amount of carbon emissions
throughout the world.
● The tremendous quantity of
electricity required to run and
cool the countless servers
housed in these data centres
results in higher energy prices
and large carbon footprints.

Conclusion:
The world of technology is changing thanks to GREEN Cloud
Computing. It is not just a new trend, but also a technology that
enables change to become more environmentally friendly, all while
maintaining a modest IT budget.
