The construction industry has been slow in adopting innovation, and for many
years, drawings have been used as the only means of communication. Drawings
represent the spatial information of assets (buildings and infrastructures) in two
dimensions (2D), and they can contain written notes and specifications (typically
dimensions and type of materials) [1]. Initially, drawings were engraved on natural
materials such as stones or wood, and later, they have been represented on paper by
hands or by printing [1]. Nowadays, paper is still used in most schools and uni-
