Country into the Internationally Recognized
Practice of Agricultural and Biosystems
Engineering, and for Other Purposes

This Act shall be known as the "Philippine


Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Act of
2016"

Section 17 Scope of Examination

Rule 17.1 The Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers Licensure


Examination shall also align with the CHED PSGs on the
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
(BSABE) which are Washington Accord compliant.

Rule 17.3 The Board, in consultation with the academe, the


industry and other stakeholders shall prepare and promulgate
the Tables of Specifications (TOS) for each of the subjects in the
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers Licensure Examination.

the commercially available farm engines, their technical specifications; be
able to estimate the power available from each source.
1.3 Determine the physical, chemical, and thermodynamic properties of fuels 3

2.2 Supervise tractor operation in trailing works, plowing, harrowing, and other 6
relevant field operations; be able to know its field operation signs and symbols
and safety procedures; and direct preventive maintenance procedures, trouble
shooting and house keeping for tractors and its farm equipment.
2.3 Supervise the operation and maintenance of agricultural and biosystems 4
machinery including the AB machinery operators and technicians.
2.4 Supervise the manufacture and fabrication of agricultural and biosystems 4
machinery and equipment.

5.1 Plan, supervise, monitor, evaluate and inspect the implementation, 7
operation and maintenance of agricultural and biosystems engineering
projects and facilities.
5.2 Know the parts and feasibility criteria; prepare and evaluate the technical, 7
market, financial, socio-economic and management aspects of a feasibility
study of agricultural and biosystems engineering projects, and its financial
and economic analysis; and valuation of ABE machinery and facilities.
5.3 Prepare AB engineering research proposals and conduct research projects. 6
5.4 Prepare training design and extension programs/projects on ABE and 6
conduct trainings and extension activities and its promotion.

6.1 Be able to know the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Law, its implementing 9
Rules and Regulations, Code of Ethics and other policy issuances of the Board of
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering in the practice of profession; prepare ABE
documents such as engineering plans and designs, technical specifications, bid
proposals, contract documents and other legal documents necessary in the practice
of agricultural engineering profession; and the rules on signing and sealing.
6.2 Be able to know relevant laws and policy issuance related to the practice of ABE 9
profession such as the Agricultural and Fishery Mechanization Law, Agricultural and
Fishery Modernization Act, National Building Code, CARP Law, Local Government
Code, Renewable Energy Law and Environmental Laws (Solid Waste Management
Act and Climate Change Act); the PAES and PABES; as well as professional
regulatory laws of allied professions.
