Photometric ozone monitoring for crucial measuring points

Sanitization with ozone is the standard method for protecting cold storage and distribution systems
for pharmaceutical grade water against microbial contamination. However, a reliable and safe imple-
mentation requires the accurate measurement of ozone at all relevant sampling points. Most chal-
lenging is to prove the absence of ozone in ready-to-use water, which enters the distribution system
after ozone destruction by UV radiation.
The photometric measurement principle employed by AMI Codes-II O3 is ideally suited for the
unattended detection of trace concentrations of ozone. It provides an intrinsic, well-defined
zero-point with every measurement and a stable slope of calibration.
The verification of the instrument‘s performance is based on two pillars: Certified optical filters
confirm the accuracy of the photometric measurement and detailed self-monitoring routines
ensure the proper functionality of all other components.
