has intimated that the registration process for the SAS Part-l & lllRAlllCPD- I, II & III
Examination in Examination -ll of 2022 will commence on 03.10.2022. The dates and
schedule of examination will be intimated irr due course. HQ office, vide letter circular No.
I I of 2020 letter no. 75l03-Exam/Addl. Chance/2016/Vol-l dated: 19.10.2020, the number
of chances to pass SAS Examination have been increased from l0 to 12. The details of the
modified system are under-

a) Under the modiflcation systern" the total chances to pass the SAS Examination
will be twelve (6 normal +6 additional)
b) The time limit for passing the SAS Examination will be eight years considering
two Examinations in a year (8 years for 12 chances). The six additional chances
are not consecutive asearlier.
c) The additional six chances will be admissible only to those candidates who have
cleared five papers within first (normal) sixattempts.
d) Those who have already exhausted ten chances will be allowed two more chances
from next SAS Examination-l and has to avail these two chances within two years
i.e. four Examinations (counting from Examination-l of 2021).
e) The eligible officials will be allowed to appear afresh in the SAS Examination
after exhaustirrg either twelve chances or eight years whichever is earlier from the
first registration of CBT without carry forwarding exemptedpapers.
I The eligible officials who could not pass five papers within the first (normal) six
chances will also be allowed to appear afresh in the SAS Examination without
any carry forward exempted papers (no need to wait for completion for eight
years).
g) Afresh means that the candidates are required to be screened through the
Preliminary Test. mandatory training etc. as applicable to the candidates
appearing tbr the firsttime
h) In the modified system also, chance will be counted once a candidates registers
for SASExamination.
i) There rvould be no scope for withdrawal of candidature under modifiedsystern.
j) ln respect of direct recruit AAOs, they have to qualify the SAS Examination in
respective branches during the period of probation for confirmation and regular
appointrnent asAAO.
k) The modified system including the counting of eight years of SAS Examination
will be applicable from next SAS Examination - I of 2021.

RA/CPD Examination
Vide Circular No.03 of 2021 letter No. 159/03-Exam/Addl Chancel2Ol6 Vol. I
Dated l3'l'April 2021. Headquarter has permitted to avail two additional chances as a one-
time opportunity to existing candidates of RA/I/CPD-l&ll Examinations who have
exhausted all permissible six chances but could not clear theExamination.
 These two additional chances should be availed in four Examinations w.e.f.
Examination-l of 2021 during two years i.e. 2021 & 2022.
As such, eligible candidates who intend to appear in the SAS/RA/I/CPD-I, II &lll
Examination-l of 2022 may submit their application (along with one latest photograph) in
the prescribed format (attached herewith) through email at adnrin.clel.enerqv(Dcas.gov.inor
hard copy in Admin Section latest. The candidates who intend to appear in the RAE
first time, may submit their application latest by 10.10.2022 (also mark RAE Fresh
Candidates). Incomplete applications or applications received after the specified date shall not be
entertained.
The intending candidates for the afbresaid examinations may please note carefully
that each registration is counted as one attempt. Thus, only candidates who are prepared to
take the examination should register for the examination. Withdrawal of candidature is not
permissible, once the candidate is registered.
