Overview General
This document contains information on: Function

General
The high-voltage on-board electrical system supplies the electric
machine and various high-voltage consumers. It operates with direct
voltage. The rated voltage is 410 V.

An electric vehicle can have one or two electric machines.

Function
The high-voltage on-board electrical system makes it possible to
operate the electric machine for the electric drive. The high-voltage
on-board electrical system also supplies consumers with high energy
demands, e.g. the refrigerant compressor or the PTC heater, with
electrical energy. In certain driving situations, the electric machine is
used in generator mode for generating electrical energy
(recuperation). The high-voltage battery serves as an energy storage
unit. The high-voltage on-board electrical system supplies the 12 V on-
board electrical system with electrical energy from the high-voltage
battery via a DC/DC converter.
