Please describe your experience with birds and/or small animals: I have several years of experience with birds since I was a little girl. While my children were small we had cockatiels and conure. Current I have a Catalina since he was 2 months, and acquired the blue throat since he was 8 months ago. They are almost 2 years old. Additionally one of the parraletts I got a year ago and is 1 years old. The history behind the others: Cockatoo came from a broken family. The original owner an elderly lady died and willed him to her granddaughter. The granddaughter and her husband could not handle him dropping him off at Animal Jungle Pet Store. It appears there were many augments within the environment as when voices or someone becomes upset he becomes very agitated. The store personal approached us requesting if we would take him as he is a biter. We required him last June. He now rarely bites and become a sweet bird. When he first came into our lives he back was completely bald and very pale looking for a muluccan. The appearance is now more of the color of peach and the feathers have grown back on his back. His name is Brit and is 15 years old. He is a typical cockatoo passionate towards one person and is not fond of man. Blue and Gold I acquired you last July 4th weekend. The previous owners were referred to me by Animal Jungle as the owner could not handle her any longer. She had the run of the house, a very small cage, and not trained what so ever. Since acquiring her she has learned that time out in the cage is because she bite or attached people feet. She would throw tempter tantrums throwing her food out the dish until it was completely empty. She no longer bites or throws tempters or wonder off her cage when let out destroying everything in site. Her tail no longer curls from being in a small cage and her beak which was extremely bent is straightened out. She was raise on just seed diet and nothing else. Baby is now consuming pellets, fruits, and vegetable and went from 650 grams to over 900 grams in weight. Parrolett Acquired her last March. This is the first rescue bird I acquired. A woman on craigslist was requesting information on how to stop a bird from plucking feathers. I replied to the history of what is stressing this bird. She called me and indicated that this bird was found by animal control starving as the previous owner had died and was not discovered for several days. She adopted the bird feeling sorry for it but was not a small bird person. She asks if I would be interested since I already owned a parrolett. Duchess has come a long ways since I acquired her. She no longer is completely naked due to lack of feather but now has many green feathers, and still some of the grey flock feathers. She still has bold spots in that the feathers may never come back but her little attitude has great compared to when I first acquired her. She was withdrawn hiding often and now comes out and sings away when someone comes near her. She lets the big birds knows who is boss when they try to climb the top of the cage to play with the foot toys I have for them. Cockatiel the newest acquired I rescued a 6 weeks ago from an individual who was going to surrender her to Animal Jungle. There is no known history other then the previous owner did not like the attitude and thought she was mean. She does bite and will need some training. This bird just came out of quarantine and introduced into the bird room two weeks ago. It is a female as it laid 2 eggs a week ago. She starting to warm up to me but still does not want to come out of the cage. At this time she is being introduced to pellet diet as she ate mainly seeds. As describe above my birds are feed mainly pellets, fruit, vegetables, peanuts, treats, and some seeds. They are out of their cages at least 4 hours or longer each day and have interactions with human beings daily. There is one room dedicated for just the birds. They have large cages where

there is plenty of room for them to move and toys for entrainment. My vet is Dr. Foster on Virginia Beach Blvd who is a qualified avian vet.
