PMI – Project Management Institute


• PMI stands for the Project Management Institute, a not-for-profit professional
membership association for project managers and program managers.

• PMI is the organization that oversees the documentation of the Project Management
Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) within the PMBOK Guide.

• As the world’s leading authority on project management, PMI empowers people to make
ideas a reality.

• Launched in 1984, PMI's first credential was the PMP. It has since become a standard
certification in project management.

CAPM – Certified Associate in Project Management*
• CAPM is a vendor-neutral certification geared towards entry-level project managers, or
those interested in a project management career.
• The CAPM exam is considered less rigorous than the PMP exam.
• It provides fundamental knowledge and training in how to manage complex projects and
guide a project team.
• It covers a range of topics varying from project management, project environment, the
roles of project manager as well as scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, and risk
management.
• The CAPM certificate is valid for five years from the time of exam passing with
certificate holders required to earn a minimum of 15 Professional Development Units
(PDUs) every three years.

ACP – Agile Certified Practitioner
• Agile approach is one of the three approaches used by PMPs.
• ACP Certification formally recognizes one’s knowledge of agile principles and their
skill with agile techniques and tools across various methodologies.

complete more of their projects successfully
than their slower-moving counterparts.

ASQ – Master Black Belt
• A certification from American Society for Quality, now called ASQ, is considered as a
mark of quality excellence in many industries.
• A certified master black belt is aimed at individuals who possess exceptional expertise
and knowledge of current industry practice.
• Traits of MBB include:
• An ability to teach, facilitate, and communicate effectively.
• To act as an organizational change agent.

ASQ – Master Black Belt
• The six sigma master black belt is the highest certification level in six sigma
methodology.

• Eligibility criteria for MBB are:


• At least five years of experience in the role of a SSBB (or)
• A portfolio of 10 completed Six Sigma Black Belt projects.
• The Portfolio is then reviewed.
• Exam must be taken and cleared.
• Must be recertified every 3 years.

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGBs)*
• The Six Sigma Green Belt operates in support of or under the supervision of a Six
Sigma Black Belt, analyses and solves quality problems and is involved in quality
improvement projects.
• A Green Belt is someone with at least three years of work experience who wants to
demonstrate his or her knowledge of Six Sigma tools and processes.
• For a company,
• CSSGBs can assist the company in identifying current problems and their scope, and
develop solutions to those problems.
• CSSGBs help achieve the much-needed process improvements leading to cost
savings, higher quality, improved delivery, and increased profit margins.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt*
• The Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is aimed at those new to the world of Six Sigma

ASQ - CRE – Certified Reliability Engineer
• A CRE is a professional certified by ASQ, who understands the principles of
performance evaluation and prediction to improve product/systems safety, reliability and
maintainability.
• It also requires the ability to develop and administer reliability information systems for
failure analysis, design, and performance improvement and reliability program
management over the entire product life cycle.

ASQ - CQA - Certified Quality Auditor*

• The CQA analyses all elements of a quality system and judges its degree of adherence to
the criteria of industrial management and quality evaluation and control systems.

ASNT Certification Programs*
• ASNT stands for American Society for Non-destructive Testing.
• Their certifications are internationally recognized professional credentials that
represents a level of excellence in the nondestructive testing (NDT) industry.
• ASNT certifications are a powerful demonstration of requisite NDT knowledge, skills,
and ability.
• They are also an impartial validation of the competence of NDT personnel in the field.
• ASNT conducts four different certifications:
• ASNT NDT Level II
• ASNT NDT Level III
• ASNT Central Certification Program
• ASNT Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel Program (IRRSP)

ASNT NDT Level II
• It is recognized that the effectiveness of nondestructive testing (NDT) applications
depends upon the capabilities of the personnel who perform NDT.
• The ASNT Level II program provides third-party examinations for NDT personnel
whose specific jobs require appropriate knowledge of the NDT method(s) for which
certification is sought.
• The ASNT Level II certification shall be valid for a period of (5) years.
• An ASNT Level II inspector:
• Is qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and interpret and evaluate results as
per applicable codes, standards and specifications.
• Should be familiar with technique limitations.
• Should organize and report the results.
• Should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of
trainees and Level I personnel.

ASNT NDT Level III
• The ASNT NDT Level III program provides third-party certification for non-destructive
testing (NDT) personnel whose specific jobs require knowledge of the technical
principles underlying the non-destructive tests they perform, witness, monitor or
evaluate.
• The program provides a system for ASNT NDT Level III certification in NDT in
accordance with Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A.
• An ASNT Level III inspector:
• Is qualified to develop, qualify and approve procedures, establish techniques,
interpreting codes and standards.
• Should have sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication and
product technology.
• Should be capable of training and examining Level I and II personnel.

ASNT IRRSP
• The Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) program provides
third-party radiation safety certification that meets the certification requirements of both
Title 10 Part 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10CFR34), and the suggested State
Regulations for Control of Radiation.

• Three IRRSP certification examinations are available:


• Radioactive materials (RAM), for personnel using gamma sources only;
• X-Ray, for personnel using x-ray machines only; and
• Combination (“Combo”) for personnel working with both RAM and x-ray devices.

• The IRRSP certifications are also valid for a period of 5 years.

ASNT ACCP Level II and III
• The purpose of the ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP) is to provide the NDT
industry with personnel who have achieved a high standard of NDT qualifications by
examination, and independent, transportable NDT certifications.
• The program promotes national and international acceptance of NDT certification and
reduce the need for multiple audits of certification programs.
• It aids to
• Develop skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment
• Conduct tests, interpret and document results
• Be capable of directing the work of trainees and personnel.
• Be able to organize and report NDT results.
• Be capable of developing an NDT instruction in conformance with a procedure.
• Qualification exams are conducted for Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant
Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual and Optical
Testing (VT), and Electromagnetic Testing (ET).

CEA Certifications
• CEA – Certified Energy Auditor – is a person who undertakes energy efficiency
assessments of large buildings and industrial facilities.
• Audits are conducted based on predefined codes and standards such as ASHARE
Standard 211-2018 for commercial buildings.
