I would like to thank my supervisor Professor Sir Ghazanfar for their continued support and
encouragement throughout my BSc Mechanical Tech. I would like to thank Engr. Sehrish Manzoor
who, alongside my supervisors, afforded me much wisdom and patience.I would also like to show
my appreciation for the members of the workshop technicians who made this work possible.
CHAPTER # 1
INTRODUNCTION:
Wood cutting machine is look like a table saw. Wood cutting saws are very useful tools for cutting and shaping
such materials. Its mostly used for cutting wood and soft material. The cutting can be dangerous if not handled
properly .This machine is able to cut the specific shape pieces of wood. It consist of cutting disks structure table.
Its also consist of granding machine for transmit power. This machine gives power to the shaft to move the cutting
disks. Two bearings are fitted in a pipe for support shaft movement. In turn leading to a detailed mechanical design
followed by the control system, all based on the aforementioned design objectives.
Cutting Machine manufacturing is cheep , so first we make parts of the cutting machine, then we
assemble all part of the machine. Mostly of the parts of machine is made of simple iron and we cast one
by one all the parts of lathe machine.

A disc cutter is a specialised, often hand-held, power tool used for cutting hard materials, ceramic tile,
metal, concrete, wood and stone for example. This tool is very similar to an angle grinder, chop saw, or
even a die grinder, with the main difference being the cutting disc itself (a circular diamond blade, or
resin-bonded abrasive cutting wheel for a disc cutter vs. an abrasive grinding wheel for an angle
grinder). This tool is highly efficient at cutting very hard materials, especially when compared to hand
tools.

1. SIZE
This cutting disk have like a circular saw with the dimension is 4 inches or 110 mm is the
actual size of cutting disk.
2. MATERIAL
The material of the cutting disk which is used in wood cutting machine is allow steel.Which
make this cutter sharp and hard then workpiece.
3. SHAPE
The shape of the cutting disk which is used in wood cutting machine is like a Teething Blade.
Ther are sharp teethes on the edges of blade.
4. TEETH
The Cutting material of wood cutting machine is any tipe of soft or medium strength body
work piece can be used for operation.

1.3: Bearing:
Bearings are "parts that assist objects' rotation". They support the shaft that rotates inside the machinery. Machines
that use bearings include automobiles, airplanes, electric generators and so on.

1.3.1: MATERIAL
The material for rolling bearing ball bearing balls varies widely and is always primarily focused on the ring
materials. This ensures that the interplay of cage, inner ring, and outer ring in the system is harmonised. This is
especially important when the application involves heating or cooling the bearings. It is important that ball bearing
running properties are always good. The most common ball materials are listed below with relation to the ring
material.
For these ball bearings, hardened steel balls are often used. The most often used material is a chrome steel with
about 1% carbon and 1.5% chrome. The properties of steel balls of martensitic chrome steel make them especially
wellsuited to ball bearing production, since they make stable components that are resistant and convincingly
durable in continuous operation. Balls made of roller bearing steel are robust and durable. Susceptibility to
corrosion tends to be low, so that cylindrical rollers and needle rollers are made of this material. But lubrication is
indispensable.

INTRODUNCTION:
Spring return pocket tape measures and long tape measures. Spring return pocket tape measures will
generally fit in a pocket. They are small; the case is up to about three inches across. The tape is returned
to the case by a spring mechanism. Pocket tape measures have a tape 1 to 15 feet (0.30 to 4.57 m) in
length and 1⁄4 to 3⁄4 inch (6.4 to 19.1 mm) across.
Fig 1.1
2.2: History
The first record of people using a measuring device was by the Romans using marked strips of leather, but this was
more like a regular ruler than a tape measure.
The first patented long tape measure in the United States was granted U.S. patent issued 10 July 1860 to William
H. Paine of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and produced by George M. Eddy and Company of Brooklyn, New York. This
tape had no increments on it. It accurately measured only a distance equal to the total length of the tape from
beginning to end marker, a brass piece attached to the tape at a measured distance. The measured length was
marked on the case or crank.
2.3: Design
The basic design on which all modern spring tape measures are built can trace its origins back to an 1864 patent by
a Meriden, Connecticut resident named William H. Bangs Jr. According to the text of his patent, Bang's tape
measure was an improvement on other versions previously designed. This design is the basis for most modern
pocket tape measures used today.

CHAPTER # 3
Safety Guard
Safety guard means an enclosure designed to restrain the pieces of the grinding wheel and furnish all possible
protection in the event that the wheel is broken in operation.
Fig 3.1
3.2: Functions
3.3: Protection
Main work of safety guard is to protect the worker from sharp cutting disks and cutting materials .It also make safe
of machine parts from external disturbance means by mistake any object came in contact during machine
operation.
All feedback is very welcome - let me know what you found useful, and what you found not so useful, and what
additional information you would have liked to be included in future versions. Inevitably, I haven't thought of all
the issues and common problems in report writing, but I will maintain this document and include any issues I spot
during the marking of the next set of project reports. I estimate it took about three days, in all, to write this. It
should save me about six or seven hours in talking to different students each year, and hopefully the same time
again in making comments on initial versions of reports. It'll also do a better job of communicating what I am
expecting in a project report, and I’m less likely to miss things out.
So, I should be ahead in both quality and time. Or at least that's the plan.
