Prologue

"Lieutenant Ukenayk? Time to head home."

Looking up from my scrap of a TIE fighter, I put down my tools. Then I start walking back to the
garrison building in Myrra. Whilst walking down the alley, I fell into a deep hole. I couldn't see
inside, so I flicked on my flashlight attachment on my RK-3 blaster pistol. The tunnel is instantly
lit up in front of me, for about 25 feet. Starting to walk down the dusty tunnel, I bump into
something. I look down, and see a rusty B-1 battle droid arm. After walking down the tunnel for
a long time, I see a light, and decide to walk towards it. When I get there, I discover that the
light is a secret entry point to a cantina.

Chapter 1

A LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY....

The smell of liquor woke me from my slumber, and I find myself in a cantina in Myrra, the
capital city of Akiva. Around me in the cantina are scattered Akivans. Standing behind the bar is
a scruffy looking bartender with a missing right arm. He looks my direction and I swiftly avert my
gaze.

My mind refocuses on trying to remember how I got here. I remember something about tunnels,
then stumbling in here, through a secret hatch. After that, I don’t remember anything. A thought
goes through my head ‘get back to the garrison head quarters, they won’t notice that your gone’.
I try to stand, but I start to feel dizzy. Slumping back into my booth, I pass out again

***

When I get back to the garrison (after more drinking, I may add) I waltz into my quarters. When I
slump down on my bunk, I start to go to sleep, but I hear the sound of footsteps outside my
door. I quickly get back out of bed, and re-adjust my cap. The door opens about three seconds
later. In rush two stormtroopers, followed by Major Forskai, who had another two stormtroopers
following him. My ears are relieved to hear praise, instead of punishment.

Forskai says "Lieutenant, we need you to hunt down some rebel scum. Their is reports of the
scum putting up propaganda. We need you to take five troopers with you, and arrest them."

"On it, Sir!" I respond. Hurriedly, I rush to the barracks. A few feet away from the door, the buzz
of automatic motors opening the door, and the sound of stormtrooper boots hitting the cold,
metal floor. When I enter, I am greeted by the salutes of twenty-four stormtroopers. Once I call
them to relax, I pick out the best troopers for the job. Second Lieutenant Nickson, Flying Officer
Keller, Ensign Mocksu, Officer Candidate Wokanan, and Ensign Johnston. After all of the
formalities, we set out to gear up, and get briefed.

Sitting in the middle of the hologram room is the big, circular hologram table. On it floats the
torso and head of Admiral Sloan.

"Hello, Lieutenants, candidates, ensigns." Sloan says "Your assignment is to patrol the streets
of Akiva, specifically the main thoroughfares. Watch for known rebels, and suspicious activity.
Ensign Mocksu, your job specifically is to set up micro cameras in alleys. Second Lieutenant
Nickson, take post on the rooftops with a DLT-19X. Flying Officer Keller, patrol the skies. Do
NOT get caught. This mission is not to be discussed outside of this room. Do you understand?"
A chorus of people saying yes, Admiral rings out for about one and a half seconds. "Good. Now
get to work. Dismissed."

I lead the way to the armory and tech room. Using my security passkey, I unlock the armory.
Nickson grabs the DLT-19X that sits under his name plate. Mocksu goes next door, and picks

up some micro cameras, and a datapad. Whence we had all of our gear together, we headed for
the back exit.

Chapter 2

The streets were packed, as usual, and we had trouble getting to the first alley. When we get to
the alley, Nickson starts to climb up a storm ladder. Overhead we hear the scream of a TIE
fighter. Looking up to see who it was, and see the distinct paint job Keller had given his TIE,
when he became classified as an ace. That's a title that comes with a call sign. His was Kobok.
The Kobok is an insectoid species, that has two orange eye, and pale brown skin. Kobok had
painted his entire TIE with light brown paint, and gave it two orange spots over the cockpit, with
one way orange paint. Mocksu sets up two of her cameras, and then we move on. In the next
alley, we hear a shot ring out from somewhere across the main thoroughfare. It hits Mocksu in
the shoulder.

Recoiling from the hit, she says "That hurt! It didn't do much though, only scorched my shoulder
pads."

***

After at least fourteen more alleys, I get a comm from Kobok.

"There's a Z-95 on my tail! I can't shake him!" He says.

I respond with "Try flying into a valley, or into the streets." After that, I comm the TIE base, and
tell them that Flying Officer Keller is in trouble, and needs assistance. Another crackle from the
comm

"Their flagship is firing on-" Those were the last words I ever heard from Kobok. Looking to the
skies, I saw a tiny puff of black smoke. Comming the base, I told them that Flying Officer
Keller's Comm has gone silent.

A less than caring response followed my comment. "Noted. We will find a replacement for him in
your squad."

Nickson, still running on the rooftops, says "I don't think that they will find a replacement good
enough for this team, Kobok was a fine pilot."

Wokanan replies before I have a chance to. "Oh shut up Nickson. They'll find someone, there's
are lots of good pilots out there." This is followed by another comm.

"Lieutenant?"

"It's Kobok!" I scream.

"Yes, it's me. You're probably wondering how I'm still here."

"Not the time for stories guys, I see someone on one of the micro cameras in alley five." says

6
Mocksu. "He's tall, has brown hair, and blue eyes. It looks like he's putting up propaganda
posters for the rebel scum. We've lost many troopers to that propaganda. Let's go get him now."

"I agree," I say. "let's go get him."

***

"I've got eyes on him," says Nickson over the comm. "send in Wokanan and Johnston." As they
hear there names, Wokanan and Johnston get up, and start walking to the alley. When they
were about to enter the alley, everyone else crowded around the small datapad that Mocksu was
holding.

Turning around, the rebel yells "Blast it! What's wrong with telling the truth?"

Through the small speakers, we hear Johnston say "These are fake. Propaganda."

Wokanan grabs him from behind.

"Why don't you look at what the Empire is telling us," the rebel yells. "now that's propaganda."

Wokanan says "Let's bring in this rebel scum. He's caused us enough trouble already." Still
crowded around the datapad, we watch as they drag the rebel scum out of the alley, and then off
the screen. Swiping the screen to the right, Mocksu changes the view to the next camera. We
kept on watching them, until they get to the Speeder.

7
Interlude

"Here's another rebel for you, Sir." I said to Major Forskai.

He responded with "Thank you, Officer Candidate Wokanan. You might be expecting a
promotion soon."

With that, Johnston and I handed over the prisoner to the Major. Walking out of the room,
Johnston asked me "Who do you think that guy was?"

"I don't know, Johnston," I reply "we didn't have a file. You can be really exasperating
sometimes." Then, out of nowhere, a wookiee jumps up and rams the door to his cell. Jumping
back from fright, Johnston drops his E-11. I looked at is, and I saw a crack. Raising my gaze to
see a look of terror on his face, I seize his gun, and him. "You're gonna regret the day you
messed with the glorious Empire."

"I didn't have a choice!" he protested. "They said they would kill my family if I didn't!"

With a snarl in my voice, I replied "Save it for the cell wall, you rebel scum!"

Then, after a moment of silence, he said "It wasn't the rebels, it was a group of smugglers
working for them, The leader's name is Krriwrroonch. He's that wookiee." He points to the
wookiee in the cell, the one that jumped him.

"Yeah right." I say. "I don't believe you. Neither will the jury. Have fun in jail, with your wookiee
friend." With that, I stun him, and drag him into the Major's office.

Chapter 3

A crackle from the comm,

"Lieutenant Ukenayk. There has been a breakout. You and your team are required to return to
the garrison HQ by foot. This mission has been postponed. "

"Everyone hear that?" I ask. "Move out!"

***

After walking about 12 blocks, Kobok suddenly yells

"Look! There's smoke on the horizon!" Everyone looked up. Mocksu started running. It took us
about five minutes to reach the garrison HQ. There was troopers lining the gates. Showing them
my ID, they let me and my squad in. All of a sudden a window breaks on the second floor. Out
of it comes a torrent of clear water. Hearing a buzzing in the sky, I look up to see an HWK - 290.
This was no ordinary brown HWK - 290 light freighter. This one had the Starbird, the mark of the
rebels. Then red streaks fly past me and my squad. They seem to be coming from the HWK -
290. Helpless, I watched as it soared higher and higher, into the deep blue sky, on the Akivan
night.

Nickson asked out loud, "Where are Wokanan and Johnston?"

Mocksu looks at me with pure terror. We both start running to the wrecked building. Opening the
door, we were hit by another rapid flow of water, pushing us back about six metres. Rushing
past us in a blur, we see Nickson, holding out his E-11. He clears the first hallway, then turns
around to cover Mocksu, who started clearing the second hallway. At the end of the second
hallway, there is a staircase going up to the second floor, then third, and finally the roof. I rush
up the stairs, and rush out onto the charred second floor. Three doors down, I see a plaque, with
the name Major Forskai on it. I open the door to see Wokanan sprawled out on the floor.

"Johnston..." Wokanan mumbled. "Traitor..."

I inquire, "What do you mean?"

"He was a rebel." Wokanan replied. "Help, I think I'm losing blood..."

"We will get you to the hospital wing." I say. "You'll be ok."

***

"Shh, I think he's waking up." I whisper. "He needs his rest." Everyone is silent. Nobody moves
a muscle. "It's to late. He's already up." I say, at a normal talking level.

"Aw, we hadn't finished the surprise yet." Mocksu whines. "Here it is anyways!"

9
She hands him an EE3, with his name, and half of his rank inscribed in it.

"Thanks, but what did I do?" he asked. "What's so special about me?"

"You turned in multiple rebels in a single hour." Mocksu says. "That's more than anyone in the
Empire!"

"They were both right there. If you average out the amount of most captures in a day, that's one
and a half per hour."

"Yeah, but one and a half isn't two."

"I'm gonna go finish inscribing your rank" I say. "Don't want to be demoted to Officer Can!"

10
Chapter 4

A comm from Forskai. "Reports say that the rebel syndicate that you had an incursion with
yesterday has fled to the planet Lah’mu, in the Raioballo sector of the Outer Rim Territories.Your
mission is to follow them, until you have all of them prisoners."

"On it Sir!" I reply. I turn around and head out the door. Walking down another hallway, I pass
Wokanan, and tell him that we are going to Lah'mu.

"Where in the galaxy is that?" he exclaims. "I've never heard of it. Let me guess. Outer Rim...
Raioballo sector... rebel syndicate hiding there?"

"No, it's in the Inner Rim, and it's called Corusant. How'd you guess that?"

"Lucky guess?" he replies.

"Anyway, we're wings up in about two hours. I'd go and get all your stuff together."

"On it Lieutenant."

With that, I walk away. Entering my room, I grab my towel from the tall, black dresser in the
corner, and head for a shower. After my shower, I pack up some rations, grab my RK-3, and
decide to go to the armory and grab a modified DLT-19X. In the armory, I bump into Nickson.

"Lieutenant!" he snaps to attention, with a salute.

"Relax, I'm only hear to grab my DLT-19X. Speaking of DLT-19X, looks like your modifying
your's. Tell me about the mods."

"Ok. This one's a silencer. I'm guessing that you know what that one does. Over hear, this is a
Macro-binocular scope, cut in half. And this final one is a mini hologram projector, which has a
map of the planet saved."

"I think you need one more."

"What's that?"

"A long range commlink."

"Ok, I'll go add that now." He snaps to attention one more time.

"RELAX!" I practically yell at him. Then, after I take my DLT-19X off it's rack, I also snatched a
detachable flashlight for my DLT-19X, and one for my RK-3. Back in my room, I pack my
combat uniform, which consists of a hard-brim hat, a dark grey metal vest, and combat boots.
Next I grab some rations, and stuff them in my bag.

11
Dragging my stuff out to the Lambada-class T-4 shuttle, I place them in the cargo hold. Then I
back to the cockpit. Laying claims on the co-pilot seat, I comm the others to tell them to hurry
up.

"On my way, Lieutenant!" replies Kobok.

The next response is from Wokanan. "Right away, Lieutenant!"

Nickson chirps in, "Yes, Sir!"

The next to enter the shuttle is Kobok, who will be piloting the Lambada-class shuttle to our
destination. After him, the next entry is Wokanan. After he puts his stuff in the cargo bay, he
takes up position in the gunner seat. Mocksu comes in, with her stuff, and puts it in the cargo
holds. She takes her seat at the System Op station. The last person on is Nickson, who sits in
the auxiliary seat, behind Wokanan.

"Set the hyperdrive." Kobok tells me.

"Setting the hyperdrive." I respond. "Destination set, Ready for departure."

"Departing."

Once we left the atmosphere, Kobok said "Jump to lightspeed."

I slowly pull down on the lightspeed throttle that juts out from the control panels on the roof. The
stars become short lines, the short lines become long lines, and the long lines become a wall of
blue light, streaking past us at Infinitely fast speeds.

I took about forty-eight standard hours to get to Lah'mu. When we entered the atmosphere, I
started the briefing. "Ok everyone, it's gonna take about fifteen minutes to run the scanners.
That means we have fifteen minutes to get briefed, and gear up. When we land, Nickson is
gonna take two stormtroopers with him, and go into the mountains. Kobok, you and Mocksu
stay on the ship in case we need a quick exit. Wokanan, you the rest of the stormtroopers, and I
are gonna go full frontal on the rebels. Everyone clear on the plan?" The four of them said Yes,
Sir! In unison. "Good. Nickson, go and pick two troopers."

"On it, Sir"

Interlude

This is my second, second? No, no third hour on this ship. After the explosion in the cell, I ran
to the roof and climbed into a random HWK-290, and stowed away in the bathtub. After about
five minutes, I felt the ship start to lift of the ground, and then go into hyperspace. Half an hour
later, I was really bored, so I looked around the bathroom. I see a pack of cards, and check
what language they are written in. Luckily, they are written in Galactic Basic, so I can
understand them. I started playing solitaire. After an unclear amount of time, of at least five
rounds, a ewok opens the shower curtain. "Don't shoot, I'm on your side!" He points his gun at
me, and I decide to show him my fired post. The button says YOUR FIRED! in Aurabesh.

"So?" the ewok asks me in basic. "What about it?"

I show him the bottom, where it reads my punishment. It says 'Consequence: Execution on
Centaxday, In three weeks time.

He puts down the gun.

13
Chapter 5

"There's a problem."

"What's the problem, Mocksu?" I ask.

"Nothings showing up on the scanners. There not here."

"What do you mean?" asks Wokanan.

"I mean, there's nothing on the scanners."

"Comm someone. Tell them we're gonna check Dantooine."

"But, Sir, that's were all the rebels are-"

"I don't care. Do it." I interrupt.

"Yes, Sir." She says.

After the comm, Kobok flew us to Dantooine. We landed on a plateau, overlooking the rebel
base. Luckily, their scanners didn't pick us up.

"We need a plan" says Kobok.

"Same plan I just said. Everyone ready?"

Everyone replies affirmative.

"Wait, somethings on the scanners. It's a YJX-1200. Non-descriptive. Just came out of
hyperspace." She asks. "What should we do?"

This one takes me a minute to figure out. Then I get it. "Mocksu, do you remember that old
HMP Droid Missile Gunship we found here?" I ask.

"Of course! Send it up to destroy the YJX! Your a genius!"

"Do it quickly, because I think that the YJX wants to land."

"On it." she says, with speed. Then she goes to the back, and grabs her bag. She returns a few
seconds later with her datapad. I watch as she finds the HMP DMG's signal, and then presses
the locate button.

A minute later, I hear a buzzing sound outside. Looking out the front window, I see the HMP
DMG. Then, it's nose points up and it flies off to destroy the YJX. I then turn and look at
Mocksu's datapad. Then a button that said Drop Rocket Droids, and I asked "What does that
one do?"

14
"I forgot about that button," She replied. "It drops B2-RPs. Rocket propelled B2 super battle
droids. Should I send them to board the YJX?"

"Yes," I respond. "That would help a lot."

"Ok."
